una mujer en hielo by elgatonegro13 una mujer en hielo by elgatonegro13
una mujer en hielo (a woman in ice) This is a stock photo from my friend FULYA. I used 2 water textures from shiiizzzam [link] and [link] Just a piece to remind my friend that the coldness of others can make us into ice, but the light gives us hope that one day it will melt.

This looks really good. The expression on the girl's face is fantastic; it looks very shocked and unprepared for her fate. The detail to the bubbles around her face and especially coming from her mouth do an awesome job of making it look like she's struggling in water under the ice. The contrast between her bright face and the dark area around her does a nice job of putting the focus on the girl.

The white around the edges, however, looks a little awkward in the piece. If it was meant to be a border, unifying the texture of the white area would make it look a little more like it was meant to be connected. If it was meant to be more like the frost of the ice, showing some indication of the ice crystal patterns and maybe not making areas completely white would help make it look a little more realistic. The Cancer sign also looks a little out of place... Maybe it would be better suited to be in a corner where it wouldn't be as close to the focal point of the image.

All in all, this is a really interesting piece. The concept is great, and it was very well-rendered. Keep up the good work! :)

to tell you the truth, even without reading the title i could tell what this picture was about, and boy is it shocking! You pulled it off very well! Immediately by looking at it you get the sense of pure fear that someone who would be trapped under the ice would really feel.. even if it wasnt literal, it makes for a very striking piece! I also like the photoedge you used on this piece.. it makes it much more interesting than it would have been as just a cropped photo manip.. great job! You really seem to have a feel for portraying emotions in art

freakin scary, she looks like she is really drowning, the water or air bubbles or ice (whichever it is) looks rather 2d as if one side is completley flat like its resting on a flat plane, great concept though and good execution, (i might have doubled posted, first comment wasnt showing up forever sry if i did)

freakin scary, looks like she is really drowning, really small picture though, and the water or air bubbles look two 2d, like one side is completly flat (i have no idea how to make it more 3d looking), but great concept and executed well

her expression is great, though it should be more blue for ice...otherwise, nice blending and texture!

She looks wet, but not frozen. Maybe a little more blue in the picture could help. She has such a great expression.

The expression is great, and I really like the textured effect to it, looks cool :) The colours are nice too, very often people can go overboard with the "Im in ice, therefore im BLUE!!!!!". I also like the rough border to it, makes it seem more rugged, and natural. My only crits would be that the cancer sign (yay, im cancer!) kinda doesnt fit, nor does your sig in the lower left, maybe make it smaller so we can look at the cool photo!

Cant think of anything else really, apart from how captivating that expression is!!!

Nice work:)

Thank you so much for the comment. Well both the model and myself are cancers too, kind of an inside joke. But I can see it now its abit of a distraction. Thank you for your advice :)

Nice work, I think it does look like she's trapped in ice. I like the contrast from the background; I think to accentuate the 'ice' feel you could add a blue layer in photoshop and change the layer blending mode to hue or color, to turn her face blue and give her a frosty look.
