I'm awfully tempted to scream out "Jesus, pull up your pants!" ... but that's just the weird mood I'm in right now. This is very interesting and expressive, but I don't think all that blank sky in the upper right really serves a purpose. I would personally crop the top to just above the tree, and the left side to maybe a third of the way up the rock. . . it's super-cool though

Very interesting shot, I would have expected a goth chick or something.. The lighting on his skin is very good, but the background is a bit busy and could be better.

Big stone crosses are eyecatching. I love black and white photography. the balance is good, but would be a bit better without the trees on the right. (in my opinion) nice shot.

Ok I really liked this photo, it has power and meaning, some sephia in it would really do something in my opinion. My downside on this photo..by a belt and pull the pants up, ok maybe I'm just old but we could afford belts when I was a kid LOL. good shot, great composition with much meaning, keep it up.

I really like it! A lot.
But my eyes couldn't focus on the man, they would roll down to that rock on the bottom left.
I don't know if you're against manipulating photos, but erasing that rock would boost a lot the contrast on the main character!
Try it! I would very much like to see it!!

i know this wasnt what you intended, but this looks a lot like a common skinhead tatoo, the 'crucified skin' ( [link] ) which gives the photo more 'power' to the people who knows of this tatoo, speacially because the guy is black (im not sure if saying 'black' is offensive, im brasilian and cant think of any word in english other than black or 'colored' - which in, my opinion, is offensive) and skins are often seen as neonazists, so its sortof a nice paradox, even if not intended. :)

I love offending NAZI's. Brown & Black bro. I'm Mexican so my skin is brown. I chill with Mexicans and Blacks mostly, and would start a fight with a Nazi or KKK in a second. Thank you for your comment carnal. Adios loco!

very well worked out ... thoughtful ... we were discussing this yesterday after a final because two friends of mine are going to make a short movie and they wanted me to play the Virgin Mary and a Congolese friend of ours to play Jesus and someone said "but he's black!" so we went "so what?" ... anyway I like it :)

Ah. You know, when I visited your page I caught this one out of the corner of my eyes. I really like this concept, and even more so after I've read the comment. You are excellent in the fact that your mind is very sharp and you are incredibly smart for doing this. I hope that more people get to see this one. :D

awesome idea, the message it gives off is great and i also like the contrast and shadows, b&w makes it very expressive. maybe crop it a bit more to make the subject in the center to focus on it more.

A heavily emotional image but I think it can be made more powerful with a bit of croping. I'd crop up to his belt/maybe mid-stomach and then up to his right forearm and then down nearly to the top of the cross leaving a slither of sky. Maybe that's a bit dramatic but I feel it helps bring us, the viewer, into the photo and upclose to the figure. Makes it more intimate, more powerful and more dramatic. At present all that emotion is escaping out the picture, I think you need to capture it more, if that makes sense.

Very nice. Looking at the scenery I have to wonder where this is and where such a large stone cross would be found o_0 it just doesn't look like a graveyard setting.

But enough random thoughts. Well done piece, great composition and angle, and the deep shadowing really helps the mood. Black and white photography is so underappreciated these days.

a very emotional piece. i like this. i for one don't think anything physical determines salvation. there's beauty in everyone's individuality, whether it's skin color, eye color, anything..

I really love the shadow play in this picture, although I would suggest trying to capture it without the trees and rocks, so as not to distract the viewer's eyes from the object and the theme of the photograph. I also don't like the pants peeking out of the trouseres... I think that maybe it's a bit too vulgar. But I really love the way you can't see his face. Makes the picture universal.
That's it, I think. Very nicely done.
