I definitely do take that as a compliment. I have a number of works that remind viewers of Dali, and I think you are right in pointing out that, though very different in subject, color, and approach, the composition, and I suspect the juxtaposition of highly representative figures and surreal imagery, are what lend to that reminiscence. I have a great respect for Dali, though I don't feel I have any direct influence; I think it is more that I am proximate enough to his zeitgeist, and perhaps working from a similar enough ratio of corporeal and conceptual reflection and conception. Dali and I both were interested in some genuine way in divulging the subconscious mind into visual expression as well as an academic excellence in production--and as we are close enough in time, culture, and species it make sense the basis for our visual solutions might be related. But anyway, I am very glad you can enjoy this piece, and thank you for the attention and appraisal.
