Literature Text

Essential.
Life flows, rushes, charges
through soft tunnels, providing existence.

My saving grace.

Limbs spread, pierced,
bolted in place.

Harsh planks, cruel tree.
Man uses nature against him.
Nature protests,
              darkness  f l o o d s.
Rain and tears mingle,
a solemn dance across
pallid slopes accented in garnet.

“Forgive them…”

Unmerited words.
Saline drips as thunder cracks,
Breath comes slow
               and heavy,  f a d i n g.
People cheer, weep, wail.
Some shield eyes, others leer.

“Into your hands…”

It is finished.

This is the third poem for my Writing213 class. We had words and a list of adjectives we came up to describe each word. Then we were to pick an adjective or two from the list and use it to inspire a poem. The word I worked from was "fluid." Wrote a freewrite and pulled out stuff from it. Here's the result.

@_@ Out of curiosity... does it have anything to do with Jesus. Sorry for asking or offending you if it isn't. It was probably to personal of a question to ask. x_x I kinda feel bad now. But its what it seems like. ^_^

I still REALLY like it.
