Not Quite Eliza 'Dimes' Dixon

This was the second piece I created after I came up with the Bowler. He needed a friend or a partner. So I came up with Darcy Dixon AKA The Playmate. Not the Playboy type of Playmate mind you, but more like a reference to two children playing together. That nickname would stick for a year, until I began to get a clear view of this character and this was not it.

While this piece is good, it just never fit right with the idea in my head. She took a few months to wrap my head around. As I continued down that road of discovery, it was my life story that was poured into her creation. She became a representation of the person I was, the person I am and the person I want to be. When I sat down and wrote out her life story, her image became clearer and now she is Eliza 'Dimes' Dixon and pretty far off from this idea in this piece.

On a side note, I created this around November 2009 (according to my copyright). This past December, there were a lot of posters for the new Sherlock Holmes movie out and I noticed that they had a poster of a French Gypsy wielding knives with a very similar look (apart from the fashion). I'm not making any claims, because there is none to be made. I just think the coincidence is cool.
