On Seeing Ironman 2 - A Sonnet
There's superhero movies everywhere;
With biceps big and spandex they do soar-
Rob Downey Jr., armed with facial hair,
A metal suit, and CGI galore,
Along with Thor, the Hulk and Batman too.
The Dolby speakers thunder with their words.
Since when did 60's heroes seem so new?
Since when did movie fans become such nerds?
Explosions sear the screen with blinding light,
With booming noise the order of the day.
The missiles fire and musclemen take flight
While buildings fall amongst the super fray.
Compared to all these movies, I do feel
My fifteen-dollar popcorn was a deal.
