The style of the art, music and subtitles does make it look like a children's song, or at least, designed to make it appear like a children's song while at the same time evoking in adults memories of childhood experience.

I've loved this song since I first heard it but it's taken me a while to get around to making a subs. Thanks Kid-san for the permission, and thank all of you (Kid, Zankyou-P, Crystal-P, Tamara) for such a delightful piece.
FYI this was released on Kid-san's Season's album: karent.jp/album/907
It's not often that a song influences me in such a way that it moves me into direct action, but this one did! I went and bought a box of sweet potatos. Here are the recipes I made.
Do you have any other recipe ideas? Especially, do you know how to make Japanese-style yakiimo? Please leave a comment!
Recipe 1: BBQ sweet potato
- Cut into 1 cm (½ inch) thick slices.
- Boil or microwave until half-cooked.
- Place on barbeque turning occasionally until soft all the way through.
Recipe 2: Potato salad
- Cut equal amounts of potatoes and sweet potatoes into small cubes.
- Boil until soft
- Drain and let cool.
- Put in salad bowl, add finely chopped onion, coarse black pepper, dash of olive oil and lemon juice to taste.
- Mix well.
Recipe 3: Chicken and sweet potato stew
- Brown chicken with sliced onions in pan.
- Add sliced sweet potato, and for variety, a small amount of other vegetables (I used potato, carrot and peas).
- Add crushed tomatoes. For a richer sauce, also add some tomato paste.
- Add herbs etc. (rosemary, basil, oregano, salt, pepper or otherwise as desired).
- Add a little water as needed, bring to boil, simmer for 45 mins.
- Serve hot with boiled rice.
