Just you and me (World Cat Day)

This is a dedication to the World Cat Day, which took place on Friday. It's a day to celebrate the deep bond between humans and felines.

But, sadly, also a day to remind ourselves that countless cats around the world are still suffering. Many are mistreated in their homes, driven away, and many are forced to survive on the streets -- ultimately dying a lonely, painful death from hunger or illness.

In Germany alone, it is estimated that over 2 million cats live on the streets or in the woods, Most of them were born as pets or descendants of domestic cats -- not really equipped for a life in the wild.

The situation abroad is even more devastating. Hundreds of millions of cats worldwide struggle to survive. Any help may feel like a drop of water on a hot stone -- but every drop matters.
