Not so long ago I received a DD. This wasn't my first one, so I was quite familiar with the system and I also experienced how even though the original idea behind the DDs was highlighting artworks with great potential, celebrating the artists behind the pieces, who poured their time and effort into their piece and skills since Eclipse came to life DDs are nothing else just a fancy badge on the picture. Why DDs are failing I think is quite a complex thing from the algorithm of dA to how hard to actually reach the reaction level of individual viewers. The world is rushing and no one has a time anymore to appreciate illustrations.But still, receiving a DD, even though if you know it won't change anything for you, not like in the old times, it still feels somehow nice. Actual people - community volunteers, people who fills an important role in the communities life, they are living, breathing persons - saw your piece and decided they worth to be promoted. That's nice.
