Hasn't it?

Anyway, right after I posted my last journal, more stuff happened IRL. During my absence I have made a few dolls, which I uploaded. Nothing big or special, they were mostly made as a distraction. I would have uploaded them earlier if I had had the energy for it. The past few months I've been lacking in energy, which is why it took me so long to reply to comments. My apologies for that. Every comment is hugely appreciated and I will reply to them all. It just might take me a while to get to it, depending on how much energy I have at the moment :) Also, thank you for the favs and watches. I haven't thanked all of you personally, mainly because the notifications were so old that most wouldn't understand what I was talking about, but they're all much appreciated :aww:

As for updates: I have little news. The pullover (my latest knitting project) that I talked about last time is almost done: I just have to knit one sleeve, put the whole thing together and knit the neckline. It looks like I will actually finish this project after all ^^ I've also started a new cross-stitching project that is coming along quite well. I've been thinking about posting some pictures on my blog or Tumblr, but I feel a bit iffy about posting unfinished work :/

Also, I tend to post my dolls on my site and Tumblr sooner than I post them here. So if I fall silent again, there's actually a chance you'll see new work on these sites way before it gets posted on dA. I still greatly prefer dA over Tumblr for posting my stuff, but posting on Tumblr requires less time/energy, since there's little to no feedback/interaction. While I absolutely love feedback and interaction, I sometimes don't have the energy to properly deal with it. After all, thoughtful comments require thoughtful replies and those take a while to write.

Real Life sympathies here...it seems to have a way of draining creative energy, doesn't it?

Glad to see your new(ish) stuff here, and I would love to see pics of your cross-stitch.  I've got one I've almost finished I've got to work on, come to think of it...

Thank you! It certainly does :/ And it drains all the energy needed for online socialising as well. I hope RL is being nice to you now: I remember reading your journal about MADADIM, but didn't have the time to comment on it.

I posted a pic here. Lately I've been neglecting it though: knitting and lace making are taking up most of my time. I would love to see your cross-stitch!

One of the perks of dolling, is that it's always there for you, and that it's a great distraction when RL gets annoying. XD It's wonderful to see your latest uploads! <3 The sweater you're working on sounds marvelous! It must be so satisfying to be able to knit garments like that for yourself, I bet it's going to look really pretty once it's finished! Good luck with all of your projects!

You're completely right about that! Eh, the sweater is nothing special really. It's only the colours of the wool that makes it slightly interesting to look at. I'm still a knitting rookie, so I can't make complicated stuff yet :shifty: But at least it looks like I'll actually finish this project, which makes me happy since I had an unfortunate tendency to give up on knitting projects. It is kinda satisfying, especially since knitted sweaters are so frikkin expensive to buy. If I finish this sweater (and if it fits), I'll have a knitted sweater that cost me about €10 instead of €30+ :D
Thank you

I'll reply to your note tomorrow. I've been too busy replying to comments today ^^'

Nothing special? Pshaw, knitting is a hard skill to master, I tried, but it's so technical that it completely went over my head. You have on idea how much I admire you for being able to actually do it! Seriously! :D Now that you mention it knitted sweaters are expensive, I think the last time I bought one, it was well over 40 dollars USD. Since then I've been buying my garments at thrift/consignment shops and have saved bundles of money that way. Clothing is seriously way too expensive these days. If you can save money and make your own clothes (depending on whether or not you have the skills) I say go for it! It certainly doesn't hurt to try at least, and to be able to wear a garment that you made yourself must be the best feeling in the world! People can come up to you, admiring your sweater and say "Where'd you buy that sweater?" and you can say "I made it myself!" It's little things like that that make life so much fun. XD

I'll be waiting! I love getting notes from you. :la:

Really? I find it to be not so technical XD At least, the standard stitches, not the intricate Norwegian patterns and all that :p I'm not touching that with a five foot pole right now. I need a lot more experience for that. But everyone has things they pick up faster or slower than average ^^ You can create drawings that actually look like the person they're meant to portray, which is something I suck at XD Yeah, 40 US dollars would be around €30, so the price is about the same as here. I've found some cheaper knitted sweaters, but rarely. True, clothing is quite expensive :/ Especially if your taste is similar to mine. Those vintage style dresses don't come with prizes below €40 >_< I've never bought clothes at a thrift shop, but that's because I'm terribly picky when it comes to clothes (there are years during which I find no clothing that I like at all - some modern fashions can be quite terribly ugly, imho). But if you can find things you like at a thrift shop, it's pretty smart to shop at them! It's a good way of saving money ^^ I've sewn clothes before, but it tends to take so much time (well, it could be done more quickly, but I often lose interest in the middle of a project and leave it lying around for a couple of weeks/months before continuing it) that it's often more convenient to simply buy clothes. At least in my case :) But wearing something you made yourself is indeed quite nice :D

My comment got too long (again), so I'm sending you a note. Keep an eye out for it! ;)

Glad you've gotten your energy back and that you've almost finished your pullover! :D   I think it would be a good idea to post your unfinished work, personally.

Anyway, welcome back. :D

Thanks for the kind comment! :D You know, I might actually post some of my unfinished work (especially the cross-stitching project I'm working on, since I really like that one). But I won't post it on dA as I prefer to keep my dA for dolls only. Besides, that pullover of mine isn't anything special (I'm still very much a knitting rookie XD). However, I do have my Tumblr and blog for posting drawings, doodles and other projects, so I might post my current projects on there. Especially since my blog really needs an update XD

I noticed your link! I started following you. :D I look forward to seeing it! :3

Ah yes, I noticed I got a new follower, but didn't realise it was you >_< I think I followed you back ^^ I'll try to take some pictures in the following couple of days!

I can see the confusion seeing as I use a different name on Tumblr. XD  You did! And yay! :D
Elaitea's avatar
I remember seeing the name you use on Tumblr somewhere, but never connected it to you XD Quite silly of me, especially since you say you go by that name online on your profile >_< Anyway, I don't know if you saw it, but I've finally gotten around to posting pictures :D
Aleiocus's avatar
It's not that silly! Most people don't go looking at people's profiles for what else they go by. XD  I saw it now! You've done a wonderful job! :D
Elaitea's avatar
I guess that's true XD Yay! And thank you :D
