I've been neglecting this site lately (read: the past half year). Erm, I had my reasons for this small hiatus? The first couple of months mental health issues drained all my energy. Then I got better, only to get a physical illness instead. Just my luck XD What this illness is, is still a mystery as I'm still seeing specialists to find out what it is (it takes a long time to get an appointment at hospitals). It's nothing life threatening or anything like that, just very inconvenient and exhausting. I'm starting to learn how to deal with it, so for the past month I've been able to doll again. People who follow my site and/or my Tumblr will have noticed this. And now I've got these two sites in order, I decided it was time to go back to my beloved dA. I did miss this site and the people on it ^^

As I said, I've been dolling again. Nothing spectacular, just a couple of simple dolls. Quick and easy stuff. I'll upload them soon :) It's nice to be dolling again ^^ It also reminded me that my site desperately needs a new layout, but that will have to wait a bit. I don't have an idea for a layout doll yet. Hopefully I'll be able to come up with one soon :aww:

I also want to thank everyone for the faves and comments! I'll try to reply to them individually, but in case I'm not able to/missed some of them: thank you so, so much :D Also, I hope you've all had a great summer (or winter)!

Glad to have you back.  I myself have been in a dolling hiatus because of work, so sympathies.  I'm glad you're feeling better, and I hope you eventually get a long-term solution for the issue.  I have something like that, and it sucks while the doctors are trying to figure out the best course of action.

You came back strong with some lovely dolls that, as usual, make me drool over your palettes.  I hope you feel inspired to make more!

Thank you! I hope so too. Frankly, just finding a painkiller that actually works would already help a lot. I'm sorry to hear that you have something like this too. It seems that things like this are way too prevalent... Tbh, the wait for a diagnosis and treatment wouldn't be so bad (I understand that doctors are very busy) if it weren't for the fact that one hospital needlessly delayed the diagnostic process for four months >_< Ah well, I'll just have to wait and see. Just a couple more weeks till my next appointment :)

Thank you so much! I kinda failed to upload all the dolls I made, so I'm going to remedy that. For now, I do feel inspired to make another one in the same series. I'm going to take full advantage of this bout of inspiration while it lasts :D

I'm glad you're dolling again! I missed seeing your work. It always looks amazing!  I hope you figure out what it is, soon!

Thank you  I hope I'll figure out what it is soon too, but in any case I already have to wait till October. And I wouldn't be surprised if the appointment got postponed, because that's what happened with my latest one >_<

Ela, are you on the Catwalk yet? Would be fun to have you pop in there someday :) Lilly and Evelyn are there too, as am I, and you know how supportive a good dolling community can be :)

You've always done amazing dolls and it is a perfect outlet. No pressure, it's fun, and I love to see new stuff.

No, I'm kinda scared to join it because I have no sense of fashion whatsoever XD I'll look into it though :) It's always nice to belong to a close-knit dolling community. They can indeed be very supportive. I've missed it during my absence.

Thank you! I have to say that dolling is a great way to forget the pain sometimes :) It's a wonderful little hobby.

Well, that is the thing: I am not that much into fashion either! And it's just a theme. Who is to say that fashion has to be modern and of today, for instance? I can see you creating fashion from the ages past! :) Do look into it. The Catwalk is nice, not too big and not too fast moving.

Well, I think you might have convinced me to join :p I do like the more quiet type of forums and as for fashion... maybe I'll be able to whip something up. Fashion doesn't have to fashionable, right? XD

Fashion can be artsy, or experimental, historical, alternative .... Lots of different things :)

Simple? No! They are both amazing, Ela.
I'm so happy you are back! You were missed. I hope you feel better soon, and find out what's wrong with your health. Hang in there, and until then use dolling as a side therapy! :)
Elaitea's avatar
Aww, thank you so much :tighthug:
I'm not putting too much stock on getting better because if I have what my GP thinks I have, it's incurable and I'll just have to learn to live with it :/ But hey, maybe it's something different altogether... I'll just have to see what the next specialist says ^^
I will :D And dolling has been a wonderful side therapy during the last couple of weeks, so I think I'll keep up with it :)

Pft, I know a bit about an incurable ilness you get stuck with for life. Mine is also not threatening or extremely serious, but it's no blue skies and butterflies either. You will have to learn to live with it and treat it as best as possible.
I know, dolling helps me a lot when I need it, too! :D

Incurable illnesses are such jolly good fun, aren't they? I'm sorry to hear you have one :/  I don't know for certain yet if mine is incurable because I've no diagnosis yet (thanks to UniversityHospital needlessly delaying the diagnostic process for four months *grumbles*). If only I could find a painkiller that actually has some effect, that would make my life a lot easier. And a proper diagnosis, that would be nice as well. But yeah, it sounds like I'll just have to learn to live with it :)

Also, best of luck with your new job and moving to the other side of Europe! I hope all will go well for you and that you'll settle in (and get used to the rain ;)) quickly.
Evelyn-arts's avatar
Oh, aren't they? XD Pff health appointments are the worst. I really hope you get a diagnosis and right treatment soon. No luck with painkillers? I am really sorry to hear you're in pain. :tighthug: Crossing my fingers for better times!
And thank you so much! Right now I don't think rain will be a problem, I quite like it but then again I haven't experienced the English rain. Maybe I'm in for a surprise! XD We shall see! :)
Elaitea's avatar
You know, they wouldn't be so bad if you could be sure that you'll be taken seriously... Ah well, had another one yesterday, but still don't have a diagnosis. But the doc at least gave me some treatment, so progress, yay!
Thank you!

Well, if it's anything like Belgian rain (I've never been to England), then it will be cold and wet XD But at least there are plenty of ways for dealing with rain, it's just a matter of not forgetting to bring them with you when you're going somewhere (I always forget to bring an umbrella with me >_<). I really hope you'll like it there!

Just a couple of simple dolls? Pfft! With the level of detail you put into everything you make, your dolls are far from simple, and I mean that in a good way! :D
It's good to have you back, I missed your dolls! :huggle:

Pfft, they are simple to me :p Thank you :D It feels good to be back ^^
