The only love story where a male elf loved a mortal female.  All the others were mortal men with immortal elf-women.  The House of Finarfin and their fate were heavily tied to the House of Beor.  I can think of so many times their histories were intertwined.  Finrod with Beor, Barahir, Andreth, Beren.   Aegnor, with Andreth and died fighting alongside the warriors of the House of Beor.  Galadriel, her daughter and grand daughters married descendants of the House of Beor.  Beautiful reoccurring story.  The character of those of the House of Finarfin is notable.
