This is a very unique and quite original version of Sauron while still being true to the books. Incredible !

Hello Elena! Your work is really excellent and very inspiring. Especially this illustration of Sauron as high priest. Seing this it was both just how I imagined it but with an extra dimension I haven't thought of. I have a working on a theology of Sauron (as part of an attempt to develop a version of the black speech of mordor) and wonder if I could use this picture as an illustration.

That mask is amazing! :-O The details and the colours, I am in love. I also like how it hides most of Sauron's face so that we can't really see it - in many ways Sauron is a quite hidden figure and especially in LOTR we don't see much of him - books and movies alike. Looking at all we can read about him in The Silmarillion & co. it's interesting how he's more and more described from a more and more distant view in each following narrative. His thoughts and words become more distant as well as his shape and face, and I'm sorry for rambling but seeing the mask made me think of all of that...
Anyway, I actually just wanted to let you know that I adore this artwork a lot! :)

I was looking for some Tolkien characters depictions and most I found were disappointing or childish... Until I stumbled into yours. You have a special gift for transposing in breathtaking images what Tolkien painted with words. When I look at your art, Vairë the Weaver comes to mind. Thank you so much for sharing your unique work!
