Melkor. Almost the same as he should be, unless something went wrong back in the glory days.

As for the golden scars,  someone, who is an amazing fanfic author and my very good friend, told  me about the facts about Kintsugi restoration art. It is used for shattered ceramics restiration. The materials are oil filler mixed with silver, gold or platinum powder.

Philosophy wise, Kintsugi art, all in all, is to exhibit the history of the object. Cracks, dents and breakouts are honorable, thus they do not require hiding or masking.

The very concept of an object with history, read: being intact for a while, destructed at a moment, reassembled later… it makes this object more valuable, comparing to its prior state. This concept really played my strings, so I had to visualize it.

My opinion, Melkor is THE natural part of Arda. And it is not really possible to erase him from this story. Otherwise there’ll be an aftertaste, a scar, a feeling, that everything is alright, but something is missing, something truly important.

All in all, I hope that there is a chance for everyone to (Webster, please help me!) revive oneself. Even for him. Obviously, he’d be about to to fix his dark deeds, and it will be challenging.
But he did not rise for nothing, after all ))

Considering that he is, essentially, Lucifer with a bit of Loki and a part of Hades portfolio, it is dead certain that he was created for exactly that purpose, to rebel and stir everything up, and, very probably, also deliberately manipulated into this (like Lucifer). With other deities like these, this world would be nothing more than an idealized Scandinavian health resort.
If Arda Healed will ever happen, which is unlikely, it would be a kind of afterlife (roughly, paradise) for the whole world, so it would be an asshole move not to invite him to the party as well. And no need in repentance, there's nothing to repent about in the first place.

Wait... What? Hades portfolio? That would be Namo from head to toe. Or are you comparing abduction of Persephone to theft of silmarils and destruction of Trees?
The rest, I pretty much agree. I have a feeling, that Iluvatar would prefer if Melkor's destructive effect was more harmonized with rest of Valar, like neither group understood how to cooperate, not just Melkor, but he ultimately served his purpose.

his smile gives me the creeps... hmm he's giving the evil vibe even in this picture.

Still, its only possible to redeem oneself if they're actually repentant, and melkor/Morgoth is not in anything of Tolkien's writings.

I love your thinking there! And, it is a very interesting topic That I myself have often thought about, to be honest.
After all, didn't everything Eru created have a roll in Arda? It makes sense.Bambi Nod Britney Spears - Mhmm
and well done! I love your technique on this one!

Love the link you created between kintsugi as a philosophical concept, and Melkor as an indispensable force of contrast, balance and progress. I find it's the same for most well-built fictional bad guys: you need an opposing force to balance out all the "good", because in the end both absolute extremes, good and bad, are detrimental to proper evolution applied to a human plane of existence. Teoretically, reaching an utopian or dystopian state would bring absolutism, thus stagnation in a single state, and finally annihilation of existence. That's why we always need a pinch of the opposing element to stir things up and keep them moving, because constant change means existence and balance, as illustrated by the Taoist symbol of yin and yang. That's why I believe "evil"characters such as Lucifer, Loki, Melkor etc are important for the world and people in it, both in fantasy and in real life. Thank you so much for expressing this idea through yours wonderful work, and for sharing it with us.

Melkor does seem inseparable from the story, especially after the events of the silmarillion and the creation. Great Artwork!

Ah the great Dark Lord Melkor, the destroyer and creator of anything filthy and cruel. My favourite of all Ainurs, the fallen one.

Melkor was the chief and mightiest of the Ainur and the first to rebel against Illuvater (GOD of the Tolkien mythos) This would be his physical form before he became the darklord Morgoth the one that made Sauron his bitch and groomed him to take over the family business. The scars could be his battle with Tulkas or Ungoliant Lord of Spiders when she blowjob the trees of Valinor stealing its light.

The idea is awesome, one of the most creative I've seen this year.
And it would be something Melkor would do, because he likes shiny things.

I think the word you are looking for is  "redeem". :) And yes, you are absolutely right - like tragedy is the muse of all great poetry, so too is Melkor absolutely necessary to bring balance, and give meaning to suffering, and cast a shadow against the light.
