As you may have noticed, I've been more active lately. I've really started off the new year with a bang and have been the most active I have ever been creatively. I'm not sure what caused this burst of creative energy but it doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon and I'm sure as hell ain't complaining. For the first time in my artistic career I actually feel really good about my art. Not that I didn't like my art before. It had it's good moments, I was always aware of how much more I had to learn. Now I feel like I finally have a solid grasp on the basics; anatomy, composition, color theory, etc. While I certainly still have more to learn before I can claim to be on a true professional level, I feel much closer than I ever have. On that note, I hope to be opening up commissions sometime in the next month or two, as soon as I have more of a portfolio built up, so keep an eye out for that.
On top of this new creative activity, I've been trying to get more involved in the deviantART community. I've been on dA for nine years, yet have never really gotten involved with the community. Well, now I'm changing that. I've been cruising by the forums and participating more in some of the groups I'm in, as well as commenting more on others works.
has helped introduce me to a bunch of new artists I would have never found on my own.
I feel like 2014 is going to be a really good year. Sorry for the somewhat rambling post, just felt like I should update it.
Oh, one last thing for anyone who happens to read this. How to you feel about "thanks for the fav" posts? I use to do this a long time ago but stopped as it felt insincere, like people were just doing it for attention, especially people who linked to a dozen different plz accounts. It's not that I don't appreciate everybody who favs my work, I cruise by the page of everyone that favs my work, I just feel like saying "thanks for the fav" was a little... ostentatious? I dunno. Just curious what others' thoughts were.
