My first journal css!!

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 10, 2011, 5:28 AM

O . M . G.

Even though the design is very simple, it was harder than I thought. As for now the layout isn't finish yet 'coz I need some help from a pro with my issues like:

    -The comments and previous journal link button bellow has errors -More effects on thumbs -I still have to edit my sidebar style -More links and misc. stuff

I know simple html and css, but css here in dA is different :O

I guess you can say that I did my css journal the hard way ;_;

Sooooooo what do you think? :)

Well, to judge your first CSS, I would say its really a good piece! I like it! :love:

But there are certain things you should look after, sorry If I'm a bit picky! Actually I'm very perfectionist by nature...

1)As you already said, the comment background needs some fix (it's position is different in firefox and IE)
2) The design that you've put above and below the journal looks huge to me. So, if you see the journal in a lower resolution the images gets cut out from the right.
3)Yes, the sidebar needs a fix! As again, in lower resolution it overlaps with the main body text! :(
4)I think you should remove the hyperlink underline from the sidebar links! i.e. use no text decoration
5)Coding the mood list was good to do but I guess in this design it wasn't necessary, you probably could have put the mood list in the lower red part of the journal design with transparent backgrond and different font color
6) Try putting some padding in the thumbs and avatars. Or may be you can even put some borders along with hover color change.

Now don't get down-heart by seeing my the comments above because..
1) You've chosen smart font colors
2) The finish of your journal design is perfect

If you still need some assistance you can ask me.

Thanks!!!

LOl, I know it will be helpful :)

I'll keep in mind all of your suggestions!

Btw, I just fixed the sidebar, but when you minimize the window some parts will be hidden. XD I'll someday manage it though, haha

That's the reason why my header and footer image are big, coz I have plans for them but failed. XD *I can't put the mood list in the red part, can I?*

Lol, it's funny, i had fun playing my layout in psd, but when I'm coding it, I realized that it's really different from making a website, so I need to change my design over and over. ;_;

I'll be making a new layout soon after I finish my commitments :D

Thanks again! I new you would be helpful :D

Yes, you can put the mood anywhere in your journal if you wish! :D

Actually, I liked the sidebar that you've coded earlier. What I meant there to change was that removing the underline (on-hover) of the links and NOT the bottom-border!! :aww:

Yes it is indeed difficult to design a layout and then coding it!!

Don't worry you'll get used to it one day! :pat:

How can my mood list's bg be the one with the blond hair? To put it on left side at the red colored bg. :)

I will be making some more css with my free time, hehehe :D

Thanks!!!

You need to use the attribute "position" to re place the mood box! :D
