Description

Dragon Snails First Sight and Kinoko greet each other on the mossy knoll. (Polymer clay and real seashells.)

I am aware that this picture was used for an article on The SCP Foundation scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-111 -- thank you to the commenters who let me know. Unfortunately, the writer of that article did NOT ask for my permission, and he even took the time to crop out my watermark from the photo. It saddens me that a fellow creative could not be bothered to respect my work, and even took pains to remove my name from my own creation.

At this point I don't even know what to do about it, as Wikidot makes you jump through hoops to create an account just to flag a page or post in the forums or contact the article creator.... *sigh* I'd be satisfied if there were a link to my website www.eirewolfcreations.com, or even the image here on deviantART if that's where he got it. The irony here is that permission would have been happily granted, if respectfully requested (with the caveat of credit being given, at least in the discussion page if not on the article itself).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my work... just please don't steal it. :) R-E-S-P-E-C-T....

***UPDATE*** 10/24/2013: The moderators of the SCP Foundation wiki contacted me when they became aware of the situation. They removed the offending image from the site until they could obtain my permission to use it. As I appreciate the creativity that The SCP Foundation encourages, and as people seem to love the Dragon Snails, I have given permission for SCP to use my image -- with the watermark intact -- and with proper attribution given. I have yet to see an apology from the article's author, but I appreciate the actions taken by the moderators when they discovered the copyright violation.

The moral of the story, kids, is this: Respect original creators. Ask permission before using their work. If you don't know who created something you wish to use, take the time and effort to find out. If they say no, respect their wishes and do something else... but they might just say yes, and then everyone's happy. :)
