Papaver somniferum by eigenwijs Papaver somniferum by eigenwijs
The beauty of this 'papaver somniferum' was very striking to me.
I've tried to capture its vulnerability and its strength.

Tell me what you think. =)

Colours work well in this piece and it's nicely composed. As somebody has already said it's nice you've included such an amount of the stem and created quite a tall piece. I must say I think a bit more DOF would be interesting. Although i'm undecided about that myself!

yes - i think you captured it well. the beauty lies in its striking colour and the brilliant contrast of this shot. it is also alone, striking out into the world under the power of its little stem.

very beautiful shot. I love the colour almost unnatural for the flower. Indeed it looks fragile, the way it has such a small stem could hold a big flower like that.

pretty!

nice flower, nice composition, maybe it would help to use a shorter shutter time to get the edges of the flower a bit sharper

but the almost shining brightness of the edges as it is now is nice too :)

wow, quite amazing how that flower is capable of holding those bog leaves on such a thin stem. Very nice how you used the high canvas to show this stem. and indeed, it shows the vulnerability very much, and by still standig even it's strenght. i love it. (l)
