This piece symbolizes the way life is...

The top burst of light symbolizes birth, the beginning of life. The early stages of life are very calm, and that's why there's only some light brushing. Nearing the middle of life, a lot of thing start going on (hence the several explosions) and things and people can take different paths (the beams connecting the explosions). Just like everything else, life just fades away, and the really light brushing at the bottom part represents that.
