Critmas: results!
Critique is something we all desire- its why most people are on dA. We want feedback on our work- some of us just to validate ourselves, others for improvement tips and others who are aiming for move their work on and want genuine suggestions to assist with that. That is quite a demanding request. Fortunately, there are people out there who do take their time to look at work, take the time to review, respond and offer this critique. And writing a critique is time consuming, even more so when you’re writing several. Sometimes I think that people forget that, which is why Critmas has a message not just about giving critique out for prizes
A Call to Conversation (1)--with =abstract1106
Welcome to my first article focusing on getting to know the deviants behind the artwork! This will be posted every Wednesday. If you have a deviant you'd like to see included, please send betwixtthepages (https://www.deviantart.com/betwixtthepages) a note with the subject "Call to Conversation"--make sure to include the deviant's name as well as a reason you think they'd make a good interview subject! Also, feel free to send along a question or two you'd like to have answered by them! This week's featured deviant is RipleyNox (https://www.deviantart.com/ripleynox). I took a small biography from her deviantID to use here as a sort of mini-introduction-- I'm a problogger and online content consultant. I interview
A way to search for Creative Commons art in DA
A simple way to search for creative commons art in DA, is to use Google advance search. Put it in you google.com search: "This work is licensed under a Creative Commons" site:deviantart.com Click the word "Images" in the left of the google page. It will show images instead of pages. Voila. You'll see all images under CC in DA. If you want to be more specific in your search, you can add words in the search above. It doesn't compares with an in-site feature, but at least it is a workaround...

Yes, THAT'S RIGHT. I'm having a contest. =D

Since the newly announced ME3 ending DLC isn't going to be here until summertime, I'm going to need something to tide me over...

Let me break it down for you...

The THEME: Help me erase my ME3 sad panda blues.

Art: Create something that will help me forget how sad I was after ME3. This could be anything. Maybe something dealing with the aftermath of the battle, a victory celebration, some imagined future, could be a scene from a certain fanfic..., or it could be something completely different! It could be a comic strip or a sculpture. As long as it's Mass Effect themed and helps me resolve/forget about my 'ME3 ending' sadness infection.

Bonus points if you use my FemShep and/or Garrus - preferred, but not necessary.

Literature: Come up with a new ME3 ending involving my Shepard. I'm leaving this pretty open, though I will say I would prefer my Shep to not be a dead, also I have been known to frequent the indoctrination theory thread on the BSN. Garrus alive would also be preferable, lol. As for length... I'm not sure, but it should be at least 2000 words. There is no maximum length restriction.

Deadline: MAY 31st, 2012 DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 10th, 2012

My Shep Reference: sta.sh/01wo502ktpjy

And most importantly...

PRIZES (for each category):
A 9x12" charcoal portrait drawn by me of the Mass Effect character of your choice, which I will mail to you.
A wasteland poster (fav.me/d4nab99), which I will mail to you.
A three month dA membership or equivalent points.

Winners from each category get to choose one prize in order of 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
There will be one secret honourable mention bonus prize, lol.

How to Submit Entries:
Please leave a comment on this journal with a link to your entry OR note me with a link.

Questions? Leave a comment or note me.

Well. Not completely done because the base still needs work and my camera was particularily uncooperative, but my entry is here: [link]

Hope that fits the bill of 'cheering up'.

Finally done! I... really hope you were serious when you said there was no word limit for FanFic because this baby clocks in at 28k. ⌐.⌐ With any luck I haven't butchered your Kate and it's at the very least an enjoyable read. :) Thanks!

First of all, thank you so much for hosting this contest! It feels so good to write again! Second of all, I am sorry about the length (tee-hee, that's what HE said); my poor neglected Muse got overexcited and galloped off without me, I'm afraid. If anyone manages to get through the whole thing, I'd love to hear what you think! [link]

Yay! Thanks! And, really, if it's too long, I understand. I hope I don't make you regret not setting an upper limit on your entries.

I'm not really happy with the thing I submitted, can I submit another one or do I have to remove the original first?
