This is completly dumb...
And pure genius at the same time.

but handle is on the left, and you open it to the left. A bit akward, you requiere a lot more of strength. Also door might get in the way (?)

This is actually... smart.

But I keep so much stuff on top of my fridge, I don't think this would compute well in my house.
LokosFermincho's avatar
Jokes aside it would be pretty neat to have one, takes a lot less space too =P

Wait so the handle is on the left, and you open it on the left?
You can't even get to look inside the fridge then! The door is in the way! xD
gizmo01's avatar
Now you only need effort and experiances to build it :D

Hahahaha awesome xD!

It might not catch on since the handle is on the wrong side, so there’s that.

Fridges have handles?
Luckysweep's avatar
yeah. Door handles.
TeddyBear101ish's avatar
Mine is just a door. No handles. Just door. You open it by pulling the door.
Luckysweep's avatar
What do you grab to pull the door? A small indent on the side?
TeddyBear101ish's avatar
It has this little indent on the top.
Luckysweep's avatar
That's an indented handle. Same function.

Technically it's not because it's not an American design. It's us Americans who have the handle on the wrong side.

Seriously though, how is it on the wrong side? I think you mean it opens opposite of the handle.
Luckysweep's avatar
That’s what I mean. The position of the handle compared to where the door opens means you have a very hard time leveraging the door open.
Unless he says it’s so you get exercise every time you eat.
LrdZanny's avatar
The handle is on the edge it opens from, when you have a hinged lever like that you want to maximize the arc of motion associated with armature to minimize the force necessary.

Imagine if your fridge, regardless of what way the door opens, had its handle on the same side as the hinge. It would be harder to open from that side than from the normal side where you open it in a wider arc of motion.
