In the city of Tuvidia voyeurism is very nearly a way of life. Godiva wouldn’t have made it a few yards here.

It is now hard to say whether the numerous balconies and ledges in the overall vertical structure of the city are the cause or the effect of this. What’s obvious, is that the higher you live, the more people you can spy upon, so the top-level (literally) estates are the most valued and sought after. Also, shatters and canopies are legally prohibited, hence the abundance of vines, which offer at least some cover.

Odd as it may be, the unusual habit has given an enormous boost to the development of science, namely – optics!
Some of the advanced citizens prefer to enjoy a good voyeuristic experience while never getting off their couch, so they order a complex and lengthy periscope, equipped with all fashions of mirrors and lenses, that goes right to their neighbors’. Since these are stunningly expensive, the construction is usually paid by both parties, which results in a device working both ways. Not only this design effectively makes the owners equally exhibitionistic, but sometimes results in quite awkward long distance tête-à-tête situations.
