Welcome to Earth, my little pony. I can't blame you for your naivety, given where you came from. I know you probably expected better hospitality from our world.
I'm sorry you came.
I'm sorry you won't be going back.
The dominant lifeform on this world has very little respect for life.
It has lost its way.

...

Just a doodle that turned into a thing.

I smell misanthropy brought on by over used fiction tropes, and a confirmation bias…

This kind of thing wouldn't happen for the simple fact it would the absolute stupidest thing people could do. And even if people only really act in their own self-interest... dissecting a member of a newly discoverer sapient species when such an act on the flip side would be considered and act of war is not serving to that self interest.

The real sad thing is that poorly written science fiction seems to have become the standard when people think of the future...

well put.
I am not sure that's what ECM's getting at here. I think this is more likely an allegory for the way we do not respect anything that cannot effectively fight back.

I have to disagree with people saying "wow this is so likely" and the supposed misanthropic profundity of the message (though the technical skill is superb).

Let's put aside the fact that a living breathing example of a fictional creation is walking around real life Earth (Does Hasbro still own the copyright if their characters are real?). AND the fact that I'm super super over thinking and making an annoying text wall about a drawing related to a silly show for little girls.

Not only are there protocols agreed upon by, and would likely be followed through by, the first world nations of the world regarding First Contact with an intelligent alien species, but it becomes even less likely when you consider the following:

The Equestrians speak English, have scientific knowledge and the technological capabilities roughly equal to that of 20th century Earth (excepting Magic, which seems to obey its own scientific laws), and appearance-wise (are designed to, of course) expressly appeal to the human ideals of "cuteness".

You'd be hard pressed to find someone cruel enough to needlessly murder a being like that, and it would be needless, since the ponies already have scientific studies of their own species - just based off the show depicting a fairly modern hospital. You ask the ET pony, and assuming it's not a one way trip between worlds, you'd be able to procure the Pony parallel of Gray's Anatomy or any book about them or their world fairly easily without morally abhorrent dissections.

AGAIN, it's a really really good drawing, and a cool concept to boot. I just don't agree with the philosophy behind it.

I know where you got this idea. It has the same patterns as cattle and animal mutilations found all over the world. Interesting. Even more interesting is the fact noone else caught it.

Thats one of the points why I "hate" what humanity stands for. One of the reasons why I sometimes canīt look in the mirror because oftens I see then pictures like this.
Donīt get me wrong I may hate humanity but I donīt hate the people.
Ashamed as what I am supposed to live without the possibility to change the whole crap.

Because if we ever encountered an intelligent lifeform from a different dimension, something that could change the science forever, our first reaction would be to cut it to pieces like a cow. Yeah, right.

In some cases we havenīt cut them to pieces but eradicated and viped them of the face of mother earth even with the
knowing that they where of our own race. Cool right?

Thus far, human's show no signs of stopping atrocities as this. Few people care, and fewer still do anything to stop it. I am one of those few. Me? I am a horse trainer. I, in fact, have my own little pony. I indeed named her Band-Aid, as I found her with a broken leg, and a lazy eye.

I love her, as I love every other living thing. I wish I could say the same for my peers...

God help us all~

Have you ever read Ishmael? It comes to mind, for we are a culture of entitled takers.
Excellent book, if you've not read it!

I just came back to look at this again and I then stumbled across the "dominant lifeform" in your description. I just think humans are not the dominant life form at all on this planet.. these kinds of thoughts are just part of our megalomania. Most life forms are insects, most surface is salt water.. yes, we do abuse and destroy other life in great numbers and we've spread out to every continent. But we're not dominant... at least not in my opinion. If you ever meet a talking ant, ask her who she thinks is the dominant species around here ;)

Why would you do that? Even if you'd do it to prove a point, it would be of no use. A single ant is like a cell in an organism.

I'm practically beside myself with astonishment and joy every time I look at something you draw, and this is absolutely no exception.
There isn't much time until companies like Monsanto, Cargill and others who have been involved in the destruction and annihilation of mostly everything natural that they can genetically engineer (EVERYTHING ON THE PLANET) are taken down along with the big propaganda platforms; nobody's listening to CNN anymore, for there's a silent revolution afoot.
Crimes against the planet cannot be repaid with debt, and that's exactly what they're doing currently. Once they're held accountable for their disgraceful actions, it'll be a sound victory for every animal; every person; everything.

This is truth - very fantastical work, I like it and dislike it for (i'm sure) the same reasons that most do. It really is sad that if a pony came into our space, we'd have to hermit forever with tons of grenades and an end-of-the-world style bunker. :(

I'd totally do it, though. :/

This is a much different kind of grimdark from my usual fare...most often, it's this visceral stuff that makes me feel angry bordering on scared...this picture however, it just makes me feel...cold and so, so very hollow inside. Probably because it dredges up memories of having to dissect a fetal pig back in my junior year of highschool. I couldn't get the smell of formaldehyde or the feeling of cutting the thing up out of my mind, it was maddening...

Anyways, you deserve a congratulation for making me actually stare in horror. :iconbravoplz::+fav:

Yeah, in a real life 'My Little Dashie' scenario... you'd have to make damn sure no one ever found out. Like, you'd have to become a hermit in the woods i think. If anyone ever knew and the word got out, it'd only be a matter of time before she'd be taken away.
A cabin in the woods stocked with guns and grenades, that's the way to be safest. Only from cold, dead hands would they pry my little pony :[
