Ink-Eyes by ecmajor Ink-Eyes by ecmajor
Ah, finally. This was a lot of work :F
But i think i like the result... I mean, i could spend another 16 hours just adjusting and re-adjusting percentages of opacity on layers and hue bars, but i'd probably end up at the same place. SO, DONE!

Ink-Eyes is pretty awesome.

I wonder if this character inspired Queek Headtaker (or was inspired by it?  idk)

That aside, an excellent drawing.  Really nice and I like the will-o-the-wisps everywhere in the swamp as well.

Oh my god you drew Ink-Eyes. Somehow I missed that last time I looked over your profile! She's one of my favorite characters in MtG. I won the FtV20 version of her at an event a while back.

this is a very interesting charakter design, although I think the wooden armor parts are beyond useless.
And a chain on a weapon you usually swing is like a lot of Ouch for your own.
I like the pencil version of this better though.

Well, in some ancient or tribal cultures there was wooden armour that was made that could protect from clubs, maces, and arrows pretty effectively. It would be better than nothing I suppose.

It's not the material, but the way of attaching that worries me. It will most likely just slide off.

Ah, looking at it, I see what you mean :noes: those threads look like they will snap if she flexes her legs too hard.

I think I have her card,  somewhere..
Holotuff Featured By Owner Jan 2, 2014
She is one of my fave magic cards from the kamigawa block, its a shame my decade old copy of her is a wreck thanks to 14 year old me. This looks great, I think the heavily blended gray scale palette works overall, and the crisp line work and penciled detail saves Ink-Eyes and the foreground details from blurring into the muddy values. I wonder if her highlights can be tweaked a bit stronger with such a palette, but too much would look odd in a very overcast lighting admittedly.

Haha, this is cool. You don't see much MtG fan art. Ink-Eyes was definitely my favorite card from Kamigawa block.

Damn, that weapon looks really dangerous! I like this picture it's possibly your best yet.

this looks very good, major

best part for me are the improvized armor plates and the weaponry.
as someone who did martial arts for several years i can imagine the level of skill required mastering this style.

as for the art itself, the opacity and colours are very fitting to the scenery, so don't change them.
and as allways: you're an anatomy monster, man. it seems you're drawing a skeleton first, attatch muscles to it and then wrap it in skin/fur.
and i think this is an admirable skill.

in two words: amazingly done!

(*psst*we need to see more band-aid :D )

You don't  need to, this is epic as it is. I love the pose, the form, how balances it all looks and the details.

+1 Epic point
