You walk along a wet concrete curb; grass still green in the winter to one side and a black asphalt road to the other, darkened by the rain. As you walk, you look up at the sky. You notice the grey clouds making a dense, soft blanket over your head and you think how they normally inspire feelings of melancholy, but not today, not now. You're not really sure why, but today the clouds seem protective and warm, they comfort you as you walk and you smile.
In a moment you come to an intersection where the road you are following connects to one other on your right. Without even a glance, you move past this new road and continue walking. You know where you're going, and that makes you happy, but there's somewhere else you would rather be.
