Here's Georgia, a.k.a Sakartvelo or officially known as the Republic of Georgia....
She's my partially owned OC with my buddy GulvardiandIvan although my details on her are a little less dark....
BASIC INFO:
Name: Georgia a.k.a Sakartvelo
Human name: Gulvardi Gelashvili
Age: Appears in her mid-thirties but is actually 1675 (as of 2012)
Gender: Female
Birthday: April 9th (Born 337 AD when they became the world’s 2nd Christian state), this is the Day of National Unity in commemoration of a terrible tragedy in 1989 – so Gulvardi does not like birthday presents or cards, she only accepts even numbers of flowers on this day
Hair colour: Black
Eye colour: Golden
Height: Approximately 1.68 or 5.6 Feet
APPEARANCE:
- Black hair
- Golden eyes
- Olive/ light tan skin
- Slightly large but “splodge” nose
- Thin eyelashes
- Thin eyebrows
- Her eyes are quite large and have a natural almond shape
- She has crow’s feet that are quite apparent, Armenia says it’s her age, but Turkey says it’s because Russia irritates her so much
- She has small thin lips and overall a small mouth
- She keeps her hair short save for two long sections at the front of her head, which she often pulls forward and braids, as was a fashion in Georgia during the twelfth century
- She usually wears a small red cap on her head which used to have a veil around the edge and sometimes it’s a black head-scarf
- Occasionally, when at meetings (especially during the 90s) she would wear the big white sheepskin hat
- She wears the red Chokha, which is traditional male soldier’s wear and still has the rows of bullets, the belt with the dagger, and she keeps it red (instead of black or white, which indicate high rank) because she feels herself as a soldier and not a general
- Her Chokha had to change a little as she got older, when Russia revealed her gender (completely by accident) she had to get a bigger fitting one to cover her breasts that she no longer bound and in the end had to cut slits in the shoulders just to move her arms!
- As her red Chokha is her traditional clothing, it is never seen dirtied and if anything gets on it (blood or mud) she goes ballistic and then states quite fondly “if you love your Chokha, you love your country!”
- She does carry scarring, but surprisingly none of them are from battle, only three really stand out… The gash in her shoulder which she shows off to the world was caused by a fight with Russia in 1917 during the Russian Revolution and ended with her quitting his empire, a slash over her heart on the left breast that Russia gave her during a brutal attack in 1905 which he blames on the actions of her people, and from the same time she has the scarring on her back of “No Freedom” or “нет свободы”
- Georgia occasionally suffers a bit of a limp and cough due to Russia and her having a fight in 1924 when her people tried to revolt and she got pushed down a flight of stairs in Russia’s house. The cough was created though by her fighting him in the Caucasus.
- Georgia always has a warm smile on her face, but this can turn into a scowl easily and she always keeps her dagger, the Qama or Kindjal, (she just says Dana and it apparently talks to her) strapped around her hips (sometimes under her coat when out in public) at all times – she re-forged it in June 2004 after the Rose Revolution so it now says “Today Our Freedom” or “თავისუფლება დღეს ჩვენი”, which is the fifth line of her national anthem Tavisupleba (Freedom).
PERSONALITY
- Friendly
- A fiery temper
- Motherly
- Adores flowers
- Adores everyone younger then her
- Georgia is the most hospitable person in the world and even when at other people’s homes she’ll take over the role of the host and make everyone happy
- She lost her sense of self-control after April 9th and now finds it difficult not to get into arguments with Russia or pull up personal things into arguments
- She is in fact suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and suffers flashbacks and paranoia when put under pressure - with this disability she can all too easily recognise a situation from the past in a current one and this is often why she over-reacts
- She likes to make friends, but knows that they are nearly always afraid of Russia’s reaction to their friendship to ever help her out much
- Her independent streak and fiery nature mean she’s a natural born rebel
- She loves to piss off Russia now that they’re divorced
- She has never wanted an Empire, just the lands that are hers by blood
- Her natural abilities at winkling into power mean she can be manipulative without realising it and she’s always been able to get people to follow her lead
- She eavesdrops purely by nature and likes to keep as many secrets as she can - but will say anything to win an argument
- She’s the only one who can call Russia out and tell him off, so when they were both talking, she was always the go-to person for trying to deal with him and he did the same for her
- Georgia dances and sings a lot, and to dance with her is to experience something surprising as she shows off her natural smile and enchanting manner
- It is very difficult to hate her once you get to know her
- She and Turkey always seem very aggressive with each other, but it’s just a way to stop them from forming feelings that might surpass their “blood-brother” bond
- Georgia loves to give people hugs (inside the house) and loves to cheer people up, even Russia when he is down
- Georgia is secretly a very lonely, lovelorn woman these days, but the only people who know this are Turkey and Germany
- Around her, Germany can do no wrong and she will always get people to listen to him: the other countries think she’s got some obsession with him… they’re only half-right!
-If you need defence from Russia, Georgia will gladly stand in front of you and take the blows
- For years she’s been Russia’s comfort and punching-bag – her feelings for him are twisted from nearly 200 years of marriage and she can seem a little contradicting when asked about him
- She will never cry in public or show weakness, which can make her out as a bitchy country but it is simply to protect her emotions and stop Russia thinking he can get her back
- She states quite plainly that she’s both a natural mother and a natural bitch
- She is currently in a field of both Russian and American influence and because she used to be owned by Persia (in part) Iran refers to her as “Greater Iran” or Big sister and they do a lot of deals together…. Something America wants in on…
- Georgia is always looking out for her half-brother Azerbaijan, she’ll protect him from everyone and despite the fact his got a thicker beard the Turkey’s, Georgia still calls him Balaca…
- Armenia is older then Georgia, only by a little bit, but she pretends Georgia is older and in the end the pair have had a rivalry for years that only stopped when they both got pulled back into Russia’s house with Azerbaijan
ABOUT HER RELATIONSHIP WITH RUSSIA
It should be explained that Georgia heard of Russia when he was a kid and her Queen Tamar needed a husband, but when Russia gave her a guy that was awful, Georgia said “forget it” and then when she and her mother (Kakheti) were trying to reunite again and get full control back from Persia and the Ottomans, Kakheti decided to contact Russia…
At first Russia was not interested in helping but when the deal to help out included a little side-note of “You can marry my daughter, you’re both Orthodox” – Russia’s empress suddenly thought – well what better way to safe-guard other Christians then through a marriage? Much to Russia’s initial displeasure (as it stated he was to maintain Georgia’s structural integrity and not absorb her into his empire), Russia went along to help out and ended up being saved by Georgia because he bought too few troops and Turkey smashed them up…
Georgia did not like Russia – even then – but when he started being more useful and even went and got her land back from Armenia and gave it back to her (shocking everyone who knew him) Georgia suddenly felt a little differently. They spent more time together and started to feel reassured in having a marriage that was supposed to work with her seeing him in spring and autumn and him seeing her in winter and summer. However, when rumours came that Persia was going to have one last ditch attempt at getting a punch in on Georgia – Kakheti told Russia and Russia was told by his boss not to go and do anything and instead move north back to the Caucasus. In the end, Tbilisi was set ablaze, tonnes were slaughtered or made slaves, and Georgia’s mother was gone… Weakened and now having to manage the diplomatic east with her own warrior west, Georgia was getting mixed messages about why Russia didn’t come.
In the end Russia was told by his new boss “you two should get married and she should come and live with us”, so in 1801 despite the countless protests Georgia’s monarchs were forced to swear allegiance to the Russian Empire and she was married and dragged to his place. The marriage was not too bad, Georgia was treated a little better then any of the others and she gave Russia quite a bit of wealth and good land, but her people were suffering and Russia tended to hog the bed sheets.
Trouble occurred with the Bolshevik movement and when Russia was sent to Tbilisi to get rid of a little meet up in 1905, he ended up creating a massacre with the Cossacks and came back in a violent mood and decided it was Georgia’s fault completely and they got into a brutal fight. A lot of things happened that year and when Russia finally was going through his revolution, Georgia said so long and stormed out with a few of their babies (like her beloved little Chechnya) and Azerbaijan closely attached to her hair braids. Whilst away she and Turkey finally cleared up their old upsets and he even introduced her to Germany… who not only took land from Turkey and gave it back to Georgia (a clear way to impress her) but ended up making such a massive influence on her that Georgia was completely infatuated, and still is.
It all ended in 1921 when Azerbaijan galloped to Georgia’s house screaming “Russia’s coming to get us!” and Georgia was recaptured within 9 days…. In fact, within a year she’d ended up popping a sprog called South Ossetia…To her surprise though Russia’s new boss was a Georgian and though he did change his name to a Russian one “Stalin”, he still loved Deda Kartli and gave her land that was always connected to her and treated her well. In fact, although there were several occasions where people rebelled because they did not like being a “Soviet Union”, Georgia was able to use her natural abilities to end up sitting right behind Stalin and finally on equal ground to Russia… though only those in the Soviet Union guessed that (a typical wife really – you want to see the man in charge or the woman who knows what’s going on?). There were problems and when Germany practically turned up in Georgia and Chechnya and Ingushetia were not able to do much to stop him, Georgia went to get involved and a lot of things happened that upset Russia…. There was even rumours (made worse when Russia was informed that Germany had a “Georgian Legion”) that Georgia and Germany had a little affair and that’s why they were in a little stalemate until Germany was called back to Stalingrad.
Things went bad and Georgia’s babies Chechnya and Ingushetia were exiled to Kazakhstan and Siberia and she was very upset! Eventually the war ended, Russia basically won it and he was told he could have Prussia at his house. Prussia and Georgia got along a little too well and as soon as Stalin died, suddenly Russia’s new boss decided “Georgia’s got a few too many people up here…” only to remove a few and kick Georgia right back down the food chain and really piss her off. So that was it, Georgia decided that Russia was not accepting that he’d had anyone in power from Georgia before and she was going to be sulky. In the end, Russia just ended up making her very sad when he continued to do things that annoyed everyone else and finally she had one little ace in the hole… one of her Georgians had become a foreign minister and was in contact with Germany a lot so Georgia checked if Germany wanted Prussia back then wiggled Prussia’s freedom out of Ivan…. Not before a protest in Tbilisi on April 9th ended in a terrible tragedy and Georgia went nuts…. Not long after helping Prussia get free she ended up escaping (Azerbaijan attached to her braids again) and that was that with her and Russia.
He eventually let her be her own place and they tried to be friendly with one another, but when Chechnya started up for his independence too, and Georgia said she wouldn’t get involved… Russia decided she had been involved and everything started collapsing between them. Already Georgia had managed to quell South Ossetia’s wish to not be with his mummy when they escaped (he was a big boy after-all) but after Georgia went through the Rose Revolution and got her other baby Adjara back, Georgia had a new boss who has helped her out tonnes and she’s very fond of. Yet in 2008, after several complaints with Russia about spying and what-not, South Ossetia and his bigger brother (and usually calmer brother) Abkhazia decided they wanted to be republics and not just territories so they started an argument with Georgia…. Whatever happened the boys got Russia involved by encouraging him to give them acknowledgement and when Georgia saw Russia driving around the Caucasus in a tank she freaked out and went straight onto the attack….
She’s very angry even after four years and the situation only got resolved, after Poland went leaping over with the other Baltic’s and Ukraine to hide behind her back and give her support, when Germany and France stepped in whilst Japan and Denmark dealt with First Aid, and arranged a plan for them to stick to. However they were both so upset with each other that Russia said Georgia should take her diplomats back and in affect they were completely cut off from one another diplomatically and thereby finally divorced. Even so, when they need to talk Switzerland gets called in to stand between and talk between them. Though recently Georgia decided she’d be a little nicer to her two naughty boys and ex-husband so she said they didn’t have to get full papers to visit on holiday etc. It means she’s seeing her babies again, but Russia’s been stating he regrets the divorce but still wants a full apology and a make-out session before he stops sulking…. Georgia doesn’t care now but everyone else seems to think they should be friends at least…
