Thanatos Ref Sheet

He's done! Finally his ref sheet is done! I've been working on it for the past 2 weeks (at my own - very slow - pace) and I'm so glad to get this boy drawn!
I adopted this beauty from Koi-Pool and I absolutely adore him! I've already got art for him by others and he'll be getting more soon!

Looking at the bio I gave him I'm debating whether or not I should make an entire species out of them. I'd love to have more sneks out there! ^-^

Thanatos was part of the Eden Project lead by wealthy scientists with the goal of creating new and extrodinary life! They took DNA from multiple creatures and created a new species - Serpentis Draco.

The species has 3 compulsory genes - American Alligator, Komodo Dragon and Gila Monster - and 2 genes that can be chosen randomly to give the creature different mutations and colourations.

His lab name (E-16) means: E for Eden, and 16 for the 16th specimen created (not all were successful).

When Thanatos was created he was immediately put in a cage and studied by scientists. He was chained to the floor within a small cage and left with only the essentials of food and water. He never had any interactions, other than testing, and didn't have anything to relieve his boredom. The designation given to him was E-16... he didn't even get a proper name!

For 12 years he was kept in that small cage - never seeing daylight even once. The only things he knew were cold, metal bars and the concrete table on which he lay when being tested on.

During his time in the lab the scientists attempted to breed him with another female; E-19. Unfortunately E-19 didn't get along with Thanatos, possibly due to stress, and the attempt was scrapped. The two dragons ended up fighting and Thanatos got a scratch on his right eye.

Just after he turned 12 an ex-employee came back to the lab with legal documents from court saying the lab must be shut down for good and all specimens were to be handed over to be tested for rehoming. All Snake Dragons were given up and each went through tests to see if they were suitable for owning. If they weren't then the government would have no choice but to terminate each one - fortunately, they all passed and were rehomed! Some went to experts and others found homes in approved zoos.

Thanatos was loved by the ex-employee and decided to take him home to care for him. Thus, E-16 got a new name and a loving, warm home!
