Fragments of the Night

The glow of the screen lit up the dark room. I had just woken up, but something inside me knew I couldn’t let it slip away. My fingers, still clumsy from sleep, began typing. Fragmented words, vague ideas, all attempting to capture an ephemeral moment: the dream I had just experienced.

It was a curious cycle, like a mirror within another mirror. Writing about a dream, within a dream. Each word I typed on my phone seemed to fade and reappear, as if caught between reality and the intangible world where it all began. A smile spread across my face as I fully woke up. Had it been a dream? Or had I really written it down?

El destello de la pantalla iluminaba la habitación oscura. Apenas había despertado, pero algo en mí sabía que no podía dejarlo pasar. Mis dedos, todavía torpes por el sueño, comenzaban a escribir. Palabras entrecortadas, ideas vagas, todo tratando de capturar un instante efímero: el sueño que había tenido minutos antes.

Era un ciclo curioso, como un espejo dentro de otro. Escribir sobre un sueño, dentro de un sueño. Cada palabra que tecleaba en mi teléfono parecía desvanecerse y reaparecer, como si estuviera atrapado entre la realidad y ese mundo intangible donde todo había comenzado. Una sonrisa se dibujó en mi rostro al despertar por completo. ¿Había sido un sueño? ¿O realmente lo escribí?
