Being the long-runner it is, it’s not hard to come across later episodes of SpongeBob SqaurePants that are retreads of earlier instalments with obvious tweaks here and there, for better or worse.
One such example is season four’s “The Thing” which has been likened to season one’s “Jellyfishing” in terms of the basic plot. Due to a freak accident, Squidward winds up in a “body cast” of sorts and Spongebob and Patrick end up trying to taking care of him, with varying degrees of failure. Granted, they go in different directions, but there are comparisons to be made.
