[DOTW] When?

After the fire ravaged Silvergard, the former leader and her son travel far and wide to find the fragmented pack - the fragmented family. To Mateusz, it was not if they would find them, it was when. He didn't want to lose his family, and the paranoid pup began to wonder if Randale was the one who set the fire somehow.

However, the travel was gruelling especially in the summer heat, the pair spent the heat of the day walking through shaded forests. Mateusz walked brisky behind his mother, glancing up to her often as she kept her one eyed gaze fixed ahead, looking around occasionally.

The silence was broken when Mateusz asked a question,

"Mama?" He asked, "When will we find Grandpa?"

Mateusz figured that maybe Grandpa had everything figured out, he always did. The young wolf heard many stories of his grandfather, how he saved Silvergard from treachery long ago and was revered as a great leader by most of the pack. Surely if they found him they'd find everyone else, right?

Zosia slowed to a stop and glanced back at Mateusz, walking up to him and nuzzling him.

"I don't know, dear." She said, "They're out in the big world somewhere, I promise. We will find them at some point."

But was that promise going to be kept?

Mateusz nodded. "Okay..."

"Let's keep going for a bit longer, then we can rest for a while, okay?" Zosia said softly. There was a hint of uncertainty in her voice that Mateusz could pick up on, as if she wasn't sure if they would find the others. Mateusz tried not to think of it right now. He nodded to his mother and with that, the pair continued on their way for a while longer before eventually stopping to rest their paws.

A lil flashback piece i wanted to do! and!!! ZOSIA!!!!! I haven't drawn her in so long fr its so good to draw her again even if its just half of her. ALSO LITTLE BABY MAN MATEUSZ AAAA!! HJFHAWSJDSA. I plan a few prequel pieces for Mateusz because i want to highlight his journey with his mother a little more. In this piece he is around 5 months old and this is pretty soon after the pack was scattered by the fire... and two months after Melchoir died, so Mateusz is rather paranoid to be out in the huge world where his monster of an uncle could be anywhere, so any thoughts of exploring were absolutely done for.
