[DOTW] Changing

Vantablack wasn't sure how, but they found themselves falling asleep sometime during the day - as evidenced by the fact they laid down to rest, and then the next moment the land was cloaked with golden light, signifying that it was sundown - or Darkfall as the Grayardi called it. Vantablack didn't make too much effort to get up right away, just relaxing and letting their body adjust to being awake.

Over time, they felt things plopping onto them, shadows floating across their vision. They lifted their head and looked over, seeing golden leaves start to pile on their dark frame. It made sense now - the days were becoming shorter and autumn was in full swing. Vantablack sighed, seeing the slightest bit of mist appear at their exhale.

Soon, the Great Ones' would have view of the domain for longer periods of time. Vantablack sighed. They never liked winter for this reason alone, but what else was there to do? Vantablack would have to adjust their schedule so they are asleep for most of the dark hours as possible. It was an annoying adjustment to make, as they could only sleep for so long while also having work to do. They never liked to be out at night unless they had to, because They are always watching. Nevertheless, Vantablack could never fight the change the world goes through every year, so they adjusted accordingly each time, especially now with the fact that the Great Ones have been angered for reasons Vantablack could not comprehend - and they still had no way to know if They were still angry, seeking the destruction of all wolves of the Tomb.

With the change of seasons, Vantablack felt more change was in order - they were Grayardi now, and they hoped to finalize that before the snow fell by taking a task - whatever that would be - as they hadn't taken a task before the Purge occured. They reflected on everything that got them here in the first place - the collapse of the mountain... losing the peculiar stone trail... finding this bunch of wolves. Grayardi was home, but it had yet to fully feel like home for Vantablack. They hoped to change this soon, they liked it in Grayard, truly. It was better than surviving the wilds alone like they had before, and Vantablack was thankful to be welcomed a place in the pack - twice. The year since finding Grayard had been a journey in of itself to adjust to, but Vantablack felt that they were finally settling like a leaf gently falling to the ground.

Vantablack laid their head back down, opting to enjoy the last of the evening atmosphere before the chill really set in while it lasted. They made sure to keep their eyes open so they didn't fall asleep in such an open spot - they were just here to relax before night took hold.

Eventually, when the golden glow began to fade, that's when Vantablack heaved themselves up to their paws and made their way to the yard to retreat to their den, out of sight of the Great Ones.

I like how this came out tbh. Vantablack is just chilling. Wanted to do something with the event prompt. Autumn is the season that shows the most change and Vantablack is experiencing a lot of change in their life since finding Grayard.
