Haudh-en-Elleth

‘But he [Tứrin] would not suffer the Orcs to use the Crossings of Teiglin or draw near the mound where Finduilas was laid. Haudh-en-Elleth it was named, the Mound of the Elf-maid, and soon the Orcs learned to dread that place, and shunned it.’  

Here I have depicted Finduilas as a ghost on her grave – an eternal painful memory of Tứrin’s who could never forget her voice: ‘But not until her cries… [were] lost upon the northward road did Glaurung release Tứrin, and he might not stop his ears against that voice that haunted him after.’
