Car Troubles

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey so long time no see! So do ya'll remember that little project I sorta-kinda shelved a while ago, the one where the Mane 6, Spike, and the CMC all went on a road trip? Welp, I really wanted to revisit that again, and... well, I did! I forgot to put the picture border around it but, eh, I could always do that later. o3o

At any rate, this drawing: a mix of adding onto the story of the Road Trip thing as well as dusting my drawing off some 'cus I feel a bit rusty for some reason. Here we see Applejack and Pinkie Pie contemplating the car the gang rented for their trip. In the middle of what seems to be nowhere, the engine sputtered then just when PFFT on them, leaving them stranded on the side of a relatively empty road surrounded by long-treading power-line poles and miles and miles of rolling green hills. Pinkie and Applejack, the only two with any know-how of the workings of a car, work together to see if they can solve the issue themselves since they can't rightly call for help: where they stopped has no reception for their cells.

Despite their back-and-forth and working for hours, no dice, so the gang has to camp out for the night while Rainbow Dash (and maybe Twilight) set out on a long flight to find the help they need. Turns out to be one hell of an experience. o3o

I've always loved the idea that AJ and Pinkie were the greasemonkies of the group: AJ because Granny Smith tinkers with cars and she taught her how, and Pinkie because I see her as a sort of handy-mare: she's had several odd jobs in her life, one of them being a part-time mechanic.

Also they're both shirtless because it's hot despite the day beginning to make way for night. Ponies, even in my anthrofied universe, don't put much stock on nakedness above the waist, so it's common place for mares to be seen shirtless during the summer and in public, just as common as stallions are. Also I dun draw bewbs on my anthros hence the lack of them here. o3o

This was fun! I'll be revisiting the Road Trip thing again sometime in the future. :3
