Grandfather's funeral was this morning. The two Marines started the service with Taps, then the ceremonial folding and presenting of the flag. The priest continued after that, led us through prayer to the conclusion of the service.
I know he is in a better place now, but that does not make this any easier.
In the course of mourning, I turned to keeping myself busy by trying to re-find Superman Symbol fanart I had favorite previously, and maybe find some new ones too. But not because the comics and films brought me joy in my youth, or because he became an international symbol for Hope, but because my grandfather had been a real-life superman to me as I grew up. He was always a strong, intelligent figure. Full of compassion and wisdom.
I found new and old art. And this:

, which looks spot-on for the source image I used to create my avatar back in 2011. So I may have finally found the mystery artist behind the image I'd found back then. I will know for sure once I've had the chance to compare the source file I used & archived with the one Mr. Lewis has posted here, but I anticipate that they will match.
Hoping I'm not jumping the gun, but Thank You, Mister Lewis.
