As usual folks, I'll be at Anime Expo this year.  Table A30.

Prints will be sold at $15 each, 2 for $20 as usual.  The Bad Boys and One Piece in Space are my newest prints this year.

There will be three books at the booth this year.  I managed to dig up several extra copies of WAITT volume 1 and I've still got plenty of WAITT volume 2. Lines 2013.will also be available for purchase for $10 (and I'll sketch you a little something when you buy!)

I'll also be taking sketch commissions at a flat rate of $20.  Anything you want, but no more than two characters or it'll get too cramped.

ONLINE ORDER FOR LINES 2012 IS NOW OPEN.

Please READ the following instruction carefully.  I am not responsible for the mistakes you make from not reading carefully.

Pertinent information about the book:
*  Book Dimension:  5.25" x 7.5"
*  40 pages
*  Printed on 50lb aged newsprint with 100lb silk-coated cover
*  Price: $10 — add $1 when paying with Paypal (for paypal fee)
*  Shipping via USPS: $3 US, $4 Canada, $6 international

I only have FORTY FIVE (45) more copies left to sell.  As of now I have no plans on reprinting them.  If the demand is so high that it justifies another round of printing, I might, but I cannot guarantee that as I have to order at least 100 copies.  Your copy will be reserved and guaranteed once your payment has been received.  I cannot hold copies as it won't be fair to other people.

I take payment through paypal ONLY.  There had been cases of missing money order / cash payment in the mail and it's just creating too much hassle on my part, so Paypal is still the safest option.  If you don't have a paypal account, go make one.  It's free.

Once the book is mailed out, it is out of my hands, so I will not be responsible for missing packages.  If you feel uncomfortable with USPS, leave me a note on the submission form so we can discuss other shipping options, such as FedEx or UPS, but YOU will be responsible for the extra shipping cost.

HOW TO ORDER:
1.  Fill in the form and submit it.
2.  If the book is in stock, you will receive a confirmation email and a Paypal invoice.  If the book is not in stock, you will be put on a waitlist.  If the waitlist has enough people, I will do a second printing of the book.
3.  Once you receive an invoice, you have 5 (five) days to pay.  If you fail to pay for whatever reason, the next person on the waitlist gets your book.
4.  Your book will be mailed out 1-2 week after payment is received.

Things to note when ordering:
*  MAKE SURE YOUR ADDRESS IS TYPED IN CORRECTLY!!  Too many times orders get lost in the mail because street names are misspelled or the house number is missing a digit.
*  Submitting the order form does not guarantee you a copy.  You will be notified after I review all the orders and will receive a Paypal invoice for payment.  Your copy is guaranteed AFTER your payment is received.
*  MAKE SURE YOUR PAYPAL EMAIL IS CORRECT, because that's where I will send the invoice for payment.  Without the invoice, you can't pay.  If you can't pay, you can't get the book.
*  SDCC is coming up this weekend and work is super busy, so please give me a week or two to get back to you.  Please be patience and bear in mind that I'm just one person handling all this by myself.

That said, if you have any questions, LEAVE ME A NOTE.  It's easier to keep track of things through DA notes than through comments.

Please read carefully.  I am not responsible for mistakes that occur due to you misreading some information.

I will be taking online order for Lines 2012 starting next week, maybe Monday or Tuesday.  Instruction on how to order and all that stuff will be posted here then.

I'll be at Fanime this year!  Table location is T95.

Stop by and say hi.  I don't really have any new prints for this year, but I'll be taking commissions if anyone is interested.
Some friends and I are going to be having a sketchjam in Pasadena this Sunday. We're meeting up around 1pm in the patio area in front of Gold Coast Cinema (42 Miller Alley, Pasadena, CA) and will be staying there until the sun sets.

If you happen to be around the area, or live near Pasadena, you should definitely stop by.  Find a group of awkward-looking people drawing on their sketchbooks.  Anyone can come, we don't care if you're a goddamn professional or just starting.  The point of a sketchjam is to check out good-looking passerbys and use drawing as an excuse to stare at them.

We'll be outside most of the time so bring your friends, some paper, something to draw with, a jacket (in case it gets cold) or sunblock (in case it gets hot), some snacks, drinks, easel and canvas if you want to paint, your pet (dogs preferred), and whatever else you want to bring that's not illegal.

Ciao.

This is last minute, but I will be at ALA this weekend.  Come stop by the table, wherever it is (we're not given any info regarding location).  Since ALA only has half-table spaces, I'll be sharing a table with cartoongirl7, as usual.  I'll be the guy with One Piece prints and she'll be the girl with lots of pretty flowery girly prints.  I will be selling prints, taking commissions, and I still have several copies of WAITT volumes as well if any of you are going and still interested in picking those up.

Also I was invited by jessichan to this panel tomorrow at 8pm, "How to get started in Artist Alley".  If you've always wanted to start selling at the alley, but have doubts, come to the panel for tips on how to start (and how to at least break even).  According to ALA's site the panel will be held in "LP3 - New York"... wherever it is.  Hopefully it's just the name of the room and not actually the state.

Man, so unorganized, there's not even a map.  Anyway, see you there.  Stop by to say hi and/or talk about One Piece/Pokemon.

To All WAITTcomics Reader: Please Read

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 3, 2011, 12:31 PM
Right, where to start?

Here I am again as the disappointing webcomic artist who keeps his readers WAITTing for another update.  I realized the last comic I posted was almost a month ago, and this sudden break happens right after I declared that WAITT was going back to regular schedule.  It is my belief that the main quality a webcomic needs to have is the consistency of update, and I seem to be failing that, so I'd like to apologize.  Some of you will say "Ah, that's alright!" but no, this isn't acceptable.  If you're thinking of making a webcomic, I suggest you make sure you have time (or stock) so you can update it frequently.  Lack of update costs readers, and in the long run, readers determine the success of your webcomic.

After all, really, what am I without all you amazing readers who keeps feeding me with more and more stupid ideas for comics?

Anyway, the reason for this journal entry is not just to apologize, but to explain.  Thanks to recent, unexpected development in the past month, I am now placing WAITT under the status "updated sporadically, and with possibly less quality."  I simply could not find the time for it at the moment.  I am currently juggling a teaching workload (as most of you know I teach college physics) that is twice as much as last year's while at the same time.... uh, exploring a brand new alien world which is taking up a lot, and I really mean A LOT of my free time.

No, I'm not having a kid. Geez.

A few weeks ago I made a blog entry about a dilemma I'm having.  This is related to that, and if you have read the post, I have decided to take the left path and see where it takes me.  I am hoping this will bring improvement in my life, my art, and everything else I'm concerned with.  I know it all seems very cryptic and shit, but in time you will understand why I'm doing this and pushing WAITT down to a lower priority.  If my exploration is successful there will be good news for everyone and, especially, myself.  Hopefully.  This will also mean that I will be less active on DA for awhile.  I will post something every now and then, but it won't be as often anymore.

Wish me luck.

Anime Expo 2011 Table Location!

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 28, 2011, 4:31 AM
Three more days until AX 2011!  Since I'm selling there with the rest of the eecafe crew, it might be a good idea to let you guys know where we'll be sitting.  We will be occupying Row B, Table 19-23.  Mine, in particular, is B22.

Here's a map.  Click for a larger version.

I will be selling my OP and Pokemon colorspreads, as well as taking chibi commissions as usual.  I'm still contemplating on whether I'll be taking non-chibi commission, but if you're interested in such, it doesn't hurt to ask.   WAITT volume 1 and volume 2 will also be sold there, as well as the Tamagotchi anthology that contains my recent one-shot, Apples & Strawberries.

I might also be auctioning and giving away some original art.  Those who have been to my livestream should know the details of the giveaway.  Remember, first come first serve.

See you in a few days!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

I finally have time to do another LS session.

Gonna draw completely random, spontaneous sketches, first-idea-that-comes-to-mind kinda thing.  I always find doing these is good to start your creative juice flowing.  I'll have my mic on too to answer questions if anyone has any.

A-Kon 2011 Table Location!

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 9, 2011, 9:12 AM
Table location: Island C, Table #5, wherever that is.

First time going to A-Kon! Will be bringing WAITT and the Tamagotchi books containing Apples & Strawberries!  Supply will be very limited due to baggage limitations, so if you're interested in getting a book, come early!  And by "early" I mean Friday or early Saturday.

Also because I'm flying back Sunday evening, I will have to close up shop by 2pm.  If you're thinking about visiting after that, might want to change your mind.

See you there.

FanimeCon 2011 Table Location: T92

Journal Entry: Sat May 21, 2011, 10:05 PM
Here's a map of the Exhibit Hall in which the Artist Alley is located:

Notice the two entrances.  I'm near the entrance, but the farther entrance if you're going from the front lobby of the convention.  Just keep an eye out for that face, or if it scares you too much, look for the One Piece colorspreads.

Next to me on T91 will be :iconcartoongirl7:, although she will most likely find my face to be too disgusting to admit she's sitting next to me.

I will be selling my OP and Pokemon colorspreads, as well as half prints and some postcard-sized prints.  If you're interested in a commission, I will be doing commissions, but only chibi commissions, as those can be done quickly and cheaply.  WAITT volume 1 and volume 2 will also be sold there, as well as the Tamagotchi anthology that contains my recent one-shot, Apples & Strawberries.  Just a heads-up: supply is very very limited for the anthology.  Although you will be able to purchase those online straight from the organizer, Love Love Hill Press.

Less than a week, folks! See you there!

Summer Conventions 2011

Journal Entry: Thu May 19, 2011, 5:35 PM
These are the list of cons I'm going to this summer.

1.  FanimeCon 2011 in San Jose, CA (5/27 - 5/30)
2.  A-Kon 2011 in Dallas, TX (6/10 - 6/12)
3.  Anime Expo 2011 in Los Angeles, CA (7/1-7/4)

As usual I'll be selling my colorspreads as 11x17 posters for $15 each or 2 for $20.  Half-sized posters will be available (with less variety) for $5 and postcards for $1.  With every 11x17 poster purchase, you get a free postcard.  It's a great deal!

I will also have WAITT v1 and v2 for sale at those conventions, so if you're a fan of WAITT Comics, don't forget to get your hands on those.  These books won't be printed anymore!

If you don't plan on buying anything, at least stop by the table and say hi.  If you're also an artist selling at the con, don't be shy to tell me who you are and where you're sitting!  Seating assignments at each con isn't out yet, so I'll post another journal once I get that particular set of information.

See you at the cons.

WAITT!Comics vol 2 Preorder CLOSED!

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 18, 2011, 2:23 AM
EDIT 4/18/2011: PREORDER NOW CLOSED!  Thank you to everyone who has preordered.  Those who have preordered will soon receive an email from me confirming whether your payment has been received, or if you still need to send in your payment.  The book has been sent to the printer, and barring any shipping issues, should be ready for Fanime, A-Kon, and AX.

EDIT 4/12/2011: Extending preorder until the end of the week, so Saturday 4/16!  Send the preorder in if you haven't! Again, this will be the LAST printing of WAITT Comics, so get your hands on one while you can.

First off, thank you for reading and supporting WAITT Comics! Volume 2 will be released this summer!  Due to the high printing cost, it is highly likely that this will be the LAST volume of WAITT!Comics that will be printed as a book, but the comic itself will continue online.

Now, a note: Serious buyer only, please! ONLY PRE-ORDER IF YOU'RE CERTAIN YOU'RE NOT GONNA BACK OUT.  I have no way to force you to pay for the book you've pre-ordered, so I'm going to take your word for it, but I've had problems with people pre-ordering and then bailing out and not paying at the last minute.  This happened a lot when I was printing Reborn VHL doujin, so I'm trying to avoid dealing with that this time.  Thank you.

If you're interested in pre-ordering, please read on CAREFULLY.  There's a lot of information below, so I'm not responsible if you misread any information.

how The pre-order works

It's simple: you pre-order the book during pre-order period, pay me the money within payment period, and when the books arrive from the printing company, I will mail them out to you.  Expect them to be mailed out to you around mid-July, because June is con-season.  I will send a notification once your book gets mailed out, but once it's out, it's out of my hands.  Shipping time will vary depending on where you live.

How long is Pre-order open?

Preorder will be extended until Saturday, April 16, 2011. Anytime between now and APRIL 13, 2011

how much it will cost

$15 + shipping

The first 50 (fifty) preorders get a personalized sketch of any WAITT character they want.  Also a set of 4x6 postcards of WAITT characters.

Shipping is $5 within the US, $7 to Canada, and $10 everywhere else in the world.

Acceptable methods of payment

I prefer PAYPAL.  If you don't have a paypal account, make one.  It's not difficult.  You don't even have to give them your bank account or anything like that.  All you need is an account on Paypal, and you'll be able to pay me with your credit card.  When sending in your payment, please check the GIFT option so I don't have to deal with Paypal fee.

Payment using Money Order works too. Money order is a very easy method of payment for those of you living in the US.  All you need to do is to go to ANY US Post Office, and tell them you want to buy a money order.  Say you're paying me $15.  Then you tell them you want $15 worth of money order.  You pay the post office people $15, and they will give you a check/certificate that is worth $15.  You will then mail this check/certificate to me.

I am also willing to take concealed cash in an envelope.  However: if the cash does get lost in the mail, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE.  I've received cash payments before and have never had any problems with missing cash, but you never know.  It's safest to just use money order since you need to go to the post office anyway to mail out some cash.

AT CONVENTIONS!  I will be attending FanimeCon 2011 in San Jose, CA (May 27-30),  A-Kon in Dallas, TX (June 10-12) and Anime Expo 2011 in Los Angeles, CA (July 1-4).  If you plan on attending any of these cons, feel free to preorder a copy and pick it up at the con.  You can just pay me when you pick up the copy at the con, BUT PLEASE DON'T BAIL OUT.  Picking up WAITT v2 at a convention will also save you shipping money!

When is the payment due?

AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I'm self-publishing, so while I do have the fund to print a certain number of books, it'll be nice to get some money back to cover the printing cost.  I'm setting a deadline of APRIL 27, 2010 (which is a month from now) for you to send me the payment.  If payment is not received by this date, your pre-order will be canceled.

Information about The book's content

WAITT volume 2 will have 80 pages total as its predecessor. The content is black and white, but the front and back cover are full-color.  The book will contain all the comics after volume 1 that's been posted online, including some extra illustrations / sketches that are exclusive to the book, character profile pages, and other stuff

How to preorder (IMPORTANT!)

To pre-order, you must follow these steps precisely.  Failure to follow these steps may result in a lost pre-order form.

To preorder, you must send an email to e57124575@gmail.com with the subject "WAITT V2 PREORDER".  Please send the email using an email account you check often, as this email will be the main method of communication between you and me.  DO NOT NOTE ME ON DA!  I don't check my DA notes often, and sometimes forget to reply to unread messages, so shooting me an email to this address works better.

In the email, copy paste the following, and fill in all the information to ensure proper delivery:

- DA USERNAME:
- YOUR NAME:
- YOUR COMPLETE MAILING ADDRESS:
- YOUR COUNTRY:
- # OF COPIES:
- DO YOU WANT ME TO SIGN THE BOOK?  (yes / no)
- HOW WILL YOU BE PAYING?
(Paypal / money order / mailed cash / con pickup)
- IF PAYING BY PAYPAL: WHAT IS YOUR PAYPAL EMAIL ADDRESS?
- IF PICKING UP AT CON: WHICH CON?
   (Fanime / A-Kon / AX)

Once I get this pre-order email, I will reply to you with the total cost and info on how you can send the payment.

I think that is all for now.  If there is any additional information I missed, I will update this journal and include that info at the top of the journal.  Feel free to comment if you have any questions.

Thank you again for reading WAITT Comics.  I hope to be able to continue this comic for a long time, because you guys are such awesome readers.

Poll Adventures (updated)

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 17, 2011, 8:57 PM
Update (2/17/2011): I'm gonna list out the poll results here, as well as comments.

So I thought this would be an interesting game to play.

I'll make a poll every day or every other day, you guys vote, and the adventure of our character continues based on the result of the polls.  Like for example, as of this moment, the "You see a fork in the road, which way do you go?" poll seems to be favoring left.  So tonight or tomorrow night, I'll make another poll about another decision our character has to make, and you guys get to decide what our character should do!

It's like those Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books, except it's online, on DA, and using public polls.

1. Thought Experiment: You see a fork in the road. You must choose. Which way do you go?
Result:  Left (51%) / Right (49%)

Comment: Well, this is interesting. I had anticipated that Right would win over Left, if not by a landslide. But perhaps that shows how naive I am considering I predicted that result based on the fact that there are more right-handed people than there are left-handed in this world.  And I certainly did not anticipate you rebels who think that people are gonna vote Right and so you should vote left instead.

2. So you head left. You see a dark, menacing forest in front of you. On the ground, there are three items. Which one do you pick up before heading into the forest?
Result: Sword (52%) / Flute (26%) / Shield (22%)

Comment: It seems that 52% of the people out there have a tendency to simply hack and slash their way out of trouble.  Only 22% would actually pick up something that will give them a decent defense.  But most surprisingly, the other 26% have an idea of survival that involves a magical flute, without actually knowing whether or not the flute is magical.

3. Okay, let's back up a bit here and design our character first. So you walk into a forest with a sword. But what are you?
Result: Girl (63%) / Boy (37%)

Comment: Again my prediction that the boys would pick "Boy" and that the girls would also pick "Boy" because they like to fantasize about hot boys is proven wrong.  Apparently what I have here is a bunch of girls who like girls and a bunch of boys who like crossdressing.

4. So you're a Girl walking into a dark menacing forest carrying a sword you just picked up off the ground! How old are you?
Result: <20 (44%) / 20-30 (39%) / Granny (13%) / 30-40 (3%)

Comment: It makes me sad that the public essentially prefers a jailbait over an ass-kicking granny.  I will get you back for this, general public! /fistshake

5. You enter the forest carrying a sword. About a hundred yards in, you meet an old man who offered a map of the forest in exchange of a flute... that you didn't pick up because you were only allowed to pick up one item. What do you do?
Result: Stab the old man, steal map (56%) / Go back and exchange sword for flute (44%)

Comment: I can safely conclude that 56% of you would try to hackslash your way through everything instead of trying for the elegant solution. Barbaric.

6. With your sword you stabbed the old man in the gut, which broke your sword in half! The old man dropped the map and eerily turned into a thick black smoke shaped like some horrible monster twice your size. What do you do?
Result: Grab map, run like hell (73%) / Hopelessly fight with broken sword (27%)

Comment: The general public has Usopp mentality. Surprise, surprise.  Although attempting to fight the monster will get you kidnapped and violated in a smoky manner, so overall, good choice there.

7. You run, not looking back. Strangely, the smoke monster isn't chasing, so you stop running. You realize you no longer know where you are, so you check the map, which turned out to be a BLANK piece of paper. What now?
Result: Keep going! (74%) / Go back (18%) / Break down and cry (8%)

Comment:  It's too bad, you guys should've picked "Break down and cry". Breaking down and crying will cause the fairy godmother to show up and teleport you out of the forest.

8. With a blank piece of paper and a broken sword you move forward, hoping that your fortune would improve. Several steps forward, you tripped over something and fell. Cursing, you looked down and saw a box buried in the ground. What do you do?
Result: Dig (88%) / Ignore (12%)

Comment:  Looks like the general public never learns.  After continuously getting screwed over by nature, you'd do best to ignore boxes lying underground.

9. You dig up the box with your broken sword. "Goddamn, this box is huge!" you say to yourself. After an hour of digging, you realize that the box is actually a COFFIN. Inside you find:
Result: Gagged Loincloth Warrior (41%) / Puppy (37%) / Ungraceful Princess (22%)

Comment:  I do not want to know what's in the mind of the 41% who voted the Loincloth Warrior, but I think I fear more to know what's in the mind of the 37% who picked the puppy.

10. The loincloth warrior in the coffin mumbled incoherently. His arms and legs are tied, and his mouth is gagged. You think, "This guy can help me defend myself, I am a girl after all!", so you decided to help him. What do you untie first?
Result: Mouth (69%) / Loincloth (21%) / Arms (6%) / Legs (4%)

Comment: Oh well, it was worth putting that Loincloth option there.  Obviously 21% of you out there are thinking PENIS.

11. You untied the cloth around his mouth. Before you can ask anything, the man's loincloth GLOW and he shouted, "THE KEY TO SAVE THE WORLD IS IN MY LOINCLOTH! UNWRAP IT AND HELP ME SAVE THE WORLD!" What do you do?
Result: Untied Loincloth (64%) / Walk Away (36%)

Comment:  It looks like 64% of you are really thinking PENIS, but are too rational (or embarrassed) to admit it in the previous poll.

12.  You unwrapped the loincloth to reveal a large, phallic key, glowing bright green. "Take the key and protect it," the man said, "For evil forces will want its power!" Suddenly, the man twitches in pain and dies. The "key" fell off his crotch. What now?
Result: Take Key (77%) / Walk Away (23%)

Comment:  Radioactive penis.  That's gonna stick with you for awhile.

General Hiatus

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 25, 2011, 10:22 AM
Taking a break until around the end of February.  I have a short-term comic project to finish, so there probably won't be any new submission over here until then.  I apologize for delaying WAITT again, when I've promised that this year will be different, but this comic project I'm doing is an opportunity to try something new, something different.  I owe a lot of you One Piece fanarts as well, so I'll try to crank those out once this hiatus ends as well.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience.  I'll put up the end product of this short-term project once I'm done, so you guys can enjoy it too.

Cheers,
e1n

Comics Galore

Journal Entry: Fri Jan 14, 2011, 6:09 PM
At the risk of sounding like an advertising bot:

If you're a fan of original stories, my new friends over at Love Love Hill are selling some disgustingly cheap comic books with amazingly wonderful and creative stories.  Prices are as low as $3 for a book (+ shipping of course), while the stories include but not limited to fluff, romance, drama, and crack.  They even have some Death Note and Reborn doujinshis as well, if you're more into fancomics.  Either way, check them out.  You won't regret adding these comic books to your collection.

Vongola History Lesson

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 4, 2011, 9:54 PM
Don't mock me, I'm not even in the Reborn fandom anymore.  But does anyone still remember the story of narcoleptic Primo/Giotto with his retarded guardians?

If not, here's quick recap: in 2007/2008 I started a little parody comic called Vongola History Lesson (VHL), exploring the life of Primo, Secondo, and their guardians, because at the time there was nothing official about them in the manga.  The story was finally finished in 2009 and was printed as a book.  I received about 70-80 preorders of the book from this community alone that year, and managed to sell at least 50 more copies through conventions in 2009 and 2010, until I sold the last battered copy I had this summer.  Since then I have received several notes/emails/messages asking me if I'm going to sell anymore copies of VHL, to which I had to answer no because I simply don't have the time and resources to bulk-print more copies of it without knowing how much I would actually sell.

But that is no longer a problem now!  I have set up an account at Indy Planet where you can purchase a copy of VHL if you want to.  This makes things a lot easier for me because I wouldn't have to shell out the initial investment to get them printed, and I wouldn't have to deal with shipping either o/

Anyway, if you've been trying to get a copy, you can now do so through Indy Planet.

www.indyplanet.com/index.php?i…

The book is 130 pages total, grayscale interior, color exterior.

Keep in mind that you CAN read the story online for free.  However, the book does have one last Epilogue chapter that I've never released online.  Think of it as a little incentive of sort.  Links to each chapter are found below.

chapter 1 | chapter 2 | chapter 3 | chapter 4 | chapter 5 | chapter 6

Thanks to all who have read and are still a fan of this madness!
