-In the Valley of Harmony-
"James, stay right here. You hear me?"
"But... I wanna help!"
"Shhhh, Keep your voice down, they might hear us."
"James, please. You're too young. You can't help. For your own good, stay right here."
James sighed. "Alright."
Malcolm smiled and ruffled his hair. "Now, don't do anything, and stay right here while I go and try to save Mom and Dad. Okay?"
"Y-yeah." Little James agreed.
Malcolm hugged him to reassure him everything was going to be fine. He then stood up slowly, and hid behind the barrels. He got closer to the guards and tried to knock them out, but only to fail since more had arrived. He sure would've gotten caught if he continued. The guards greeted each other and started gossiping.
"I heard that this is one heck peaceful village. Too bad, we all laid it down to waste just like the dust it used to be!" The guard struck a pose, kicking the ground.
"Hell yeah! We sure showed the world what we're made of!" The guards laughed in their own pride. Malcolm was insulted by what the guards had said, he wished to strangle them. But now wasn't the time to pretty much do some stuff he'll later regret. He continued to hide, until the guards stopped laughing. He heard footsteps, so he decided to do a little peak. The leader of the Darks had arrived. And the guards were already saluting her arrival.
"I told you both to guard the post. NOT to laugh in your own prides." She said.
"Yes Madam Ren, We're truly sorry."
"Hmph." Ren shrugged the guards quote angrily. She continued to walk towards a male and a female bear, kneeling down and hands tied up behind their backs. Malcolm hid lower as he noticed the guards follow The Dark Leader. He watched, as he devised his plan to rescue his parents.
"Where are your sons?" Ren asked.
"We'll never tell you." Jason spitted on her feet to insult her.
"Heh, I knew you'd say that." Ren turned her back on them, only to turn around again, holding a gun and shoot Jason. Jason dropped to the ground, as Fe immediately went to his side. Malcolm gasped, but he covered his mouth, to prevent himself from failing his objective.
"Jason!" Fe cried and tried to hold her bleeding husband.
"Fe... I'm so sorry..." Jason coughed out his blood.
"Jason, please... Don't... Our kids need us..." Fe sobbed.
"Hmmm, such an awful scene. Well, like they always say..." Ren said and loaded the gun again.
"...'Till death do us part'." Ren repeated the wedding vow and shot them both. James heard the gunshot and saw his parents die. Tears began to form in his eyes.
Fe and Jason bled to the ground. Malcolm jumped out of his hiding spot, trying to run to his parent's aid. But he was too late. "NOOO!!! NO! NOO!!!!!" He shouted, as the guards held him down. He began to get punched and kicked down to the ground. The guards held him up again when he was weak and crying, as Ren approached the bear. She immediately noticed the similarities between him and his mother. She was sure already.
"Ah, the son finally delivered. Tell me my child, Where is your brother? Do that, and I might spare your life, not like what had happened to your parents." Ren attempted to make a deal out of the bleeding Malcolm.
"I'll... *cough* never tell you, you... evil witch....*cough*" Malcolm never gave up. The guard punched him again, only to be stopped by Ren. He was held up again.
"My child, do you ever know what happens to stubborn brats? They get punished. They get tortured. They get tormented. And you... Have been a stubborn brat." Ren said as she pulled out two swords, testing out it's sharpness. The guards held him up and stretched his arms, as Ren sliced through both arms without hesitation. Malcolm cried in pain.
"GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He screamed. The guards let him go. He crawled to the ground, helpless. Ren stabbed both of Malcolm's feet, in which made Malcolm tear out in pain. She proceeded to cut both feet too. Malcolm felt like he was about to die.
James saw his brother whimping and crying in pain. He couldn't take it anymore.
Something clicked inside him. Something... so unusual... and so... unstoppable. He couldn't fight the emotion off. His eyebrows squished, his sharp teeth bare, and claws unsheathed. He certainly wasn't happy anymore, nor sad. His eyes, it had the look of death. The eyes... of an Immortal descendant. Two glowing red eyes had taken place in his used to be golden-yellow eyes. He jumped out of his hiding spot, and landed on a guard. He took out the guard's throat, only to hear it choke in pain. It was so satisfying. He couldn't stop it. One by one, he tear the other guards apart. Using his sharp claws and teeth, He mutilated them without mercy. One wounded guard had reached Ren. Ren looked at him.
"There's a lil' cub bear on the loose... The men are dying... He's mutilating them like they're nothing... " The last dying words of the guard shocked Ren. Could it be, that this is the warrior she was looking for? After all these years? She certainly wasn't going to miss out. She ran towards the direction of the cub, where she had never believed her eyes. A cub, snapping the throat of a dying guard. With his little cub chubby hands. She knew it. This was it. The time had come.
Looking so exhausted and very wounded, James kneeled down to the ground. He felt that he had avenged his parents's death. He collapsed to the ground, closing his eyes. Ren didn't waste any time to approach the young bear. She looked at his pulse, he was still alive. But he was BARELY alive. Ren carried James, and put him in a cage.
"Don't let that cub die. We need it alive until we reach our base." Ren ordered the guards, as she got on her vehicle. The guards saluted and stayed with the cage, dragging off poor James away from the village with the other surviving Darks and captives.
Malcolm cried. He had failed everyone. He slowly closed his eyes, and saw someone glowing in bright yellow. He thought he was finally dying.
-Inside Cheska's house-
"See, Cederick... Not because we smile... Doesn't mean we're not in pain. I've lost something more than you ever did your whole life. But do you see me complaining?" Malcolm talked to Cederick, as he finished up with his story. Cederick looked down in shame. He shouldn't have had insulted Malcolm's happy personality. But it was too late. All he had to do now was to just answer Malcolm's question.
"N-no... No... You don't." Cederick's voice barely showed up.
"I'm... really sorry." Cederick apologized.
"Don't worry. I forgive you." Malcolm accepted Cederick's apology.
"You know, you actually remind me of him." Malcolm added.
"Of whom?" Cederick asked.
"My little brother."
