1. The first time I found God
Was when I was 15.

I found God in a pen.
I scribbled down words
And he brought them to life.

2. They found God in their phone.
Instead of handling the awkwardness
Of the party,
They prayed to God to get them out.

3. He found God in his paycheck.
He locks himself in his office
As if it was a church,
Hoping to see God again.

I think I saw him praying
Last week when I visited.

4. She found God
In the mirror.

When she looked at God
In the eyes,
She freaked out
And punched the mirror until it shattered.
The devil put his hand over
Her fist and told her it’ll be alright.

5. They found God in each other.
I thought that would make them happy
But every time they’re together,
They throw the Devil at each other
In an odd game of Dodge ball.

6. He found God
At the bottom
Of a Bottle.
And every time he sees him,
God shows him a little piece
Of heaven,
Then helps him vomit out the demons
Inside of him.

7. She found God in a needle.
Then she found God in herself.

I don’t know what happened
To her after that.

8. She found God smothered
On a razor blade.

When he bled out of her wrists
Like water park slides,
He looked
At her and said,
“This isn’t fun anymore,
Why don’t you come to heaven with me?”

9. My family found God
7670 miles away from home.
We fled from our war torn village
And found God waving to us
At the other side of the ocean.

10. I found God last year
While riding my bike.

He smiled just before pushing
Me out of the way
Such that the truck glazed me,
Knocking me off my bike.

The devil was standing next to me
Smiling.
Sometimes I still see him waiting at
My doorstep,
He’s always dressed very nicely:
A suit and a tie.

I think
He’s waiting to take me in.
About addictions, hopes and dreams. Used God/Devil as metaphors.

We all find our God in our own way.
Solid work. I like this a lot.

May I offer some advice?

Like you, I had put my old work in storage as I found it cringeworthy and not up to my then current standards. I came to regret doing so because I had realized that it had given me a reminder of where I had come from and where I was going. As well, I came to the realization that I enjoy seeing the growth of a writer and thought others might like to see that in me as well. Having a variety of pieces of varying ages, and experience levels, I feel gives me some insight to who the writer is as a person.

Putting stuff in storage doesn't mean you, yourself, can't view it. lol. :p I didn't delete anything.

For me, it's more of a control flow thing than not wanting poeple to view my old work altogether. I want to have a way of people seeing my newer work then going into my back catalog, if they want. If there was a way to unlist work, similar to youtube, I would do that instead. That way people could still view those work if they have a link, but won't show up in searches and whatnot. I'd then make a list of all the unlisted material for people's viewing pleasures.

Ah. Smarter than what I did, then. Good thinking.
If you don't mind, I would like to take a look at your older work.

Ha. Not possible on dA.

How far back do you want to go. I can put a couple stuff on sta.sh and send them. Goes back to 2011. I recommend 2013-2015, era I made this. Those were the years I was popping on here like a motherfucker and getting on the front page everyday.

Just wow :wow:
The choice of words and how expressive they are that tell the main scenario is amazing. It's both chilling and awe inspiring what you came up with here  Well done.

My god, that is one of the most beautiful and deepest poems I have ever read. My heart is wrenching and bleeding of deprivement of things like this. I see god everytime I walk home from Devils torturing my innocent soul, God waits there on my desk giving me quick trips to heaven hour after hour, day after day. I never want to have to leave heaven, but when I do, I look at the good and bad clearer than I ever have. I take it all in while God just sits there waiting for my return, like the Devils.
