It's been bugging me of late,
That when there's a mistake
Mankind won't hesitate
to say "I'm only human."
And when the man's lied to your face
and decieved the entire race
to win this god damn arms race,
it's acceptable to say "I'm only Human."
Why is it ok to say that just for today
We'll let you off, because "You're Only Human"
When Humans built pyramids, skyscrapers, cities,
defied disease, pestilence and injury
expanded our reach as far as the eye can see
all this, and "we're only human"
we've touched the sky
flung ourselves into the furthest reaches of the night
we concede that we're still insignificant, but that's alright
but never ever because we're "Only Human"
We've made mistakes, but by our own grace
sought to right the wrongs of our own race
tried to make the world a better place
and still we're "only human"
So when you next fall too short
please give it second thought
before you claim you're "Only Human"
Because, at the end of the day
there's nothing more to say
