I've always been an advocate of feathered tyrannosaurids, and in a way I still am. All things considered, it seemed to make perfect sense that large coelurosaurs would look just as fuzzy as small ones such as Juravenator, and discoveries like Yutyrannus back in 2012 just solidified that belief. Up until that very polarizing paper including skin impressions from different tyrannosaurid taxa and their distribution along with what the authors were implying was published, thus provoking strong reactions in both sides of the spectrum ( the media dumbing everything down and taking it out of context didn't help either).
