this was done for a school project where we were supposed to convey an idea/concept of feeling through the work.
i wanted to do hades and persephone because it's generally accepted that hades kidnaps persephone and forces her to be his bride. i wanted to show that i imagine that their story and their relationship to be a little different that the traditional recorded myth. i hope that i achieved that.

WARNING! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning!
Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental
hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the
staff in the hospital so the More-government decided that best idea was to get rid of her so
they set up a special room to kill her, as humane as possible but it went wrong the
machine they were using went wrong. And she sat there in agony for hours until she died.
Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on
a Monday night at 12:00 a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you
and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pictures on this one site, and
she will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently, if you copy and paste
this to ten comments in the next ten minutes you will have the best day of your life tomorrow. You
will either get kissed or asked out, if you break this chain u will see a little dead girl in yo

I will never get tired of Hades and Persephone art, there's so many ways you can tell a tragic "love" story.

Truly beautiful~
Around Mabon an acquaitence and I were in a discussion about the love of Hades and Kore-Persephone  about the possibility that her return to the Underworld represents her return to her innerself, her Feminine womb, and Hades is representing her inner masculine: protector of both innerself and the afterlife too.  The pomegranate  could represent her womb blood, and that Fall into Winter represent her time of menstruation, rest and replenishment, rebalancing herself before returning to the earth as Kore, lady of renewed life and Demeter mother of all and fruitfulness.  Perhaps her aspect of Kore is lost as she blooms into sacred sexual Venus and mother Demeter because she is constantly of service to Gaian (human/humin) and universal life and thus she mourns and life slowly dies because she is exhausted, worn and takes time to descend into her own inner gardens, which is no longer a hellish underworld because she  and Hades choose to heal it and make it into an oasis. Perhaps Adonis is an aspect of Hades who is born to share parts of life with her, before dissolving to become a guardian over her....The possibilities are beautiful, endless~

It is so beautiful
The picture is so beautiful. Your work inspired me to start writing a story that has long had in my head about these two. If any public time, I would love it to be the cover of my ebook. ;)

Absolutely stunning brushwork and light effects.

I also really like the romantic approach to the couple as opposed to the violent abduction version (even though he did that in the myth, one can certainly interpret Persephone's following actions differently). And Hades is definitely not as bad a guy as Zeus.

I love it!! You did an amazing job!! It totally feels like they're in love!! Clap

I agree with you! Persephone was asked to go back because her mother was killing the world in her despair. Most people don't realize Hades was also master of the the Greek version of Heaven, the Elysian Fields.
