The Best of April Visual Art!
Now it's time for April 2009 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
:pointr: Run by karemelancholia since February 2007.
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it!
Fave Fave Fave!
My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations.
Artists need to be supported.
So don't be shy!

Visit their pages, support them by faving, commenting, and when you see a deviation that you like also view their gallery entirely, like that you can decide if you will devwatch them or not.
Viewing only a deviation (what is great) is not enough ;-)
:police: Don't forget to view the collections linked under the titles of each category!

And if you want to see your favorite visual artists or art selected to be in this feature for the next month,

The Seven Day Digital Art Collage Smackdown Projec
What do you get when you take inspired traditional collage, fueled by candyfloss dreams and carousel musings... and combine it with two photoshop gurus ready to duel til their Intuos pens melt?  You get the Seven Day Digital Art Collage Smackdown, featuring Angi Sullins, Silas Toball, and myself -  Aimee Stewart!
For seven days in April, Angi Sullins - President of Duirwaigh Inc., threw down the gauntlet of challenge and stoked the fires of creativity with her handmade collages.  In fact, her exact words were ""Hey Aimee! We've started a collage project and want to challenge you to participate. Did you just hear that? It was the sound of the gauntlet falling to the floor. Pick it up or die of shame."  Heh!!   And with those words, the Seven Day Digital Collage Smackdown was born.
To quote Angi:  "Well, to be perfectly clear, it didn't start as a seven day smackdown, but we all liked what we did so much we just kept

Angi Sullins and Silas Toball
Artist | Professional | Varied
United States
Duirwaigh Studios is home to the creative talents of husband-and-wife team Angi Sullins and Silas Toball. They, along with their menagerie of artist, writer and film-making friends, produce products and services that inspire creative consciousness.

From tangible treasures like books, films, and gifts, to the lively inspirations of workshops, and concerts, Duirwaigh specializes in the three E's: enchantment, enlightenment, entertainment.

We believe each product and experience should transport its audience through the portal of wonder and into the limitless realm of soul, where impossible things happen every day. With creative wild abandon and imaginative play, with a belief in the infinite possibilities of the human psyche, with feet on the ground and heads in the stars, we endeavor to knock at the door of the human heart, re-minding ourselves and each other that once upon a time is really here and now.

About Angi & Silas
They’ve been described as “The Dazzling Duo” and if you’ve ever visited their home or dropped by their website for a cup-of-delight, you’ll know why. Angi and Silas are the creative master-minds behind Duirwaigh Studios – an inspired art agency based in bohemian Taos, New Mexico.

After almost a decade of helping visionary artists find their niche, the couple now devotes their time to synergistic collaboration. Silas’s focus is symphonic music composition and graphic arts, while Angi has turned her years as a muse into a thriving public speaking and writing career. Angi’s first book Flaming Muse (2009) is available on the Duirwaigh website. The book, popur with artists and dreamers, is taken from the halls of Mesage from the Muse, Angi's online inspiration portal. www.messagefromthemuse.com/

The dynamic duo also create inspirational films together and are the creative team behind A Knock at the Door – the little film that continues to make a big splash on the internet, having been seen by over three million viewers. Prepare to be dazzled! www.duirwaigh.com/

Hi! Thanks for joining CosmicRoots. Welcome to our group. 'A Knock at the Door 2nd ed.' is a wonderful and magical video; thanks so much for submitting it. :) 'Guardian 01-2010' is a beautiful photograph, but would you consider removing the central watermark so the center could be clearly viewed? For a first submission to Digital, would you perhaps consider 'Singing Up the Moon' or 'Rise'?

i can submit anything you like.

regarding the watermark: this is deviantart's problem. you cannot offer prints without the watermark, there is no alternative protection from people downloading images, dA is not giving the option to add your own watermarks or placing it differently. they seem to be pre-occupied with constant cosmetic front-end changes instead of things that matter... :-)

Thanks. If you would please submit the magical 'Singing Up the Moon'? :)

I understand about the watermark problem -- without it, work gets stolen so easily. It seems to be happening more and more, almost as if it were becoming institutionalized.
