Gadgets Additions 3.0.0 by Dudebaker Gadgets Additions 3.0.0 by Dudebaker
System, Web, Markets and BOINC monitoring inspired by the AddGadgets.com (and Orbmu2k) Windows Sidebar Gadgets.

Created as addition to SilverAzide's suite to complete the transition of the AddGadgets.com collection from Windows Sidebar Gadgets to Rainmeter.
Since Orbmu2k's Windows Sidebar Gadgets completed the AddGadgets collection in this past era, some of them were also reinvented in this suite.

Compatible with Windows 7, 8 and 10.
Rainmeter must be installed to use this suite!
The download-button for this suite is in the top right corner.

Each skin has a settings skin and can be scaled individually for any resolution!

You can choose between 5 different styles through the launcher skin to set the style globally:
  • Default
    • Gradient background
  • Blurred Edges
    • Black background with blurred edges
  • Solid
    • Black background without edges

Hello!

I really like your Gadgets! Thanks!
I use "Frosted Glass" on SilverAzides Gadgets! Just love it!

Is it possible to add "Frosted Glass" using FrostedGlass plugin in this gadget?

Glad you like our Gadgets!
I've took a look at this skin and this time the modification is even easier as for SilverAzides suite.

Add the following block above the meter [MeterBackground]:

[MeasureFrostedGlass]
Measure= Plugin
Plugin=FrostedGlass
Type=Blur
Border=None

Refresh the skin (right click and refresh).
Go to the settings of this skin (arrow icon and then gear icon) and change the following:

Background = 1
Reflection = 1
Shade = 1
Shine = 1
Blur = 0

The gap on this skin is a little bit bigger than on mine or SilverAzides ones but this would need probably many more modifications to fix.

Excellent! That was spot on!
With my background wallpaper all the Gadgets get a soft frosty and kind of glowing feel. So pretty!
Thanks!

Awesome work!
Is any variant to change border color?
Reply
:icondudebaker:
Dudebaker Featured By Owner Edited Oct 8, 2018  Hobbyist Interface Designer
Thanks!

Unfortunately there are no variants with different border-colors nor is there a variable to change the border-color directly.
But since all skins use the same template-files, you only have to change the colors in two of them.

Paths to these files (change "---your_user_name---" to your windows-username):
C:\Users\---your_user_name---\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\Gadgets Additions\resources\Templates\AddGadgetsUI.ini
C:\Users\---your_user_name---\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\Gadgets Additions\resources\Templates\AddGadgetsUIDynamic.ini

Since the windows editor shows all in one row, open the files with Notepad++ or SublimeText (they even have downloadable plugins for color-highlighting the Rainmeter syntax!) or a similar text editor.

In both files you'll find the line "; AddGadgets UI Meters" and below you'll find the background, borders and gradient skins.
The border-color is assigned by the command "SolidColor=x,y,z,a".
x = 0-255 for red
y = 0-255 for green
z = 0-255 for blue
a = 0-255 for transparency

Edit:
It's on my todo list to add the same border-style-options as the ones in SilverAzides suite... ;-)

in Currencies skin, refresh rate = second?
Reply
:icondudebaker:
Dudebaker Featured By Owner Edited Sep 29, 2018  Hobbyist Interface Designer
Correct, the value is in seconds.

Each setting has a tool-tip which include those necessary infos.
The tool-tip will be shown by hovering for example the text "Refresh Rate" with your mouse cursor.

Edit:
But please don't go to low with the value - not that eventually cnbc.com will start to block Rainmeter too (like bloomberg does cause of the many useless requests without them being able to show ads)

Hi,

I am new to Rainmeter, however, I must say this is an amazing piece of work. Thank you for sharing it.

I have turned on the gallery.ini and for some reason I am unable to change the text in the folder setting. I can delete the default (E:\google\median) however I can't replace it with my local folder address for some reason. I've tried copy/paste, typing, everything.

Thanks

Will take a look at it this evening.
But it seems bloomberg has changed some of its HTML-Code and so the RegEx doesn't match anymore.

Bloomberg blocks Rainmeter parsing data from their website - instead of getting the data, a website with a captcha is first displayed, which can not be confirmed.
So this is a bigger problem, I'll have to find another source first ...

Edit:
Found cnbc.com to be useful... Stocks skin done, Currencies in progress.

HI.  Thank you for this amazing work.  Unfortunately I am a noob.  I have been using Rainmeter for quite sometime but only install the skins that come in the rmskin format.  This unfortunately I have no clue.  I tried installing to the skins folder but there are other folders and some .ini files.  I tried to research on the web but I can't seem to get it to work.  Thank you for any help you can extend.

Hi, sorry but I don't know what's your problem... my skin suite is delivered in the rmskin-Format.

Maybe you have extracted the rmskin-file with (for example) 7zip and now you have folders...?

You only have to double-click the downloaded file to open the default Rainmeter-Installer-Window.
You do not have to do anything with the ini-files or folders.

I have now even tested the installation-routine with the latest Rainmeter revision (r3088, released yesterday) and anything works how it should.

Sorry for that many updates in such a short time!
Was a little bit addicted to Rainmeter in this week and couldn't leave my hands of it.
As long the new Rainmeter updates don't break something I will leave it for this month.

Next month will be added a Power Control skin to change the power plan (like earlier sidebar gadgets were capable of (ex: orbmu2k's battery skin))
Any other suggestions?
