Now in color!

I roughed up quite a few drawings today, but this one I felt like taking a little further. I just wanted to draw a frame-filling drawing of Christiana.

Thanks! I do love drawing her...probably because she's going commando and no one seems to notice or care. =p

I don't know but if I noticed it I would care ;P

It could be healthy to maintain some minimum safe distance however! That gal can do some DMG with her weapon I bet!

I hate to say this but she's holding the scythe up too high, (it's not artistically wrong at all) it's just that the weight works with it, so you hold it low or from the lower middle and when you swing in, the momentum propels it forward. This is because when farmers would cut the grain, they would have to bend their back over and over, causing back pain, so the scythe was developed to be moved without having to bend, but to thrust by turning side to side.

I very much liked this picture, sorry I know a lot about weapons :lmao:

Yeah, like I said to :iconhulkdaddyg:, I drew her hand too high up on the shaft, but I drew her so large and I wanted the whole scythe in the drawing so I just said screw it. Let's just say she's posing and not attacking. :)

I have to commend you for not giving in to making her impossibly flexible and showing her full butt and breasts [link]
Really well done on the lower body. The anatomy is spot on. The axe part that covers the arm doesn't read well to me. It doesn't look like it should do that. I think you pushed this piece past your usual, though and props for that. Overall nice work. I may have to fan art her.

You made it impossible for me to stop thinking about that blade so I went ahead and repositioned it so it falls behind her forearm. Almost wrinkled the paper, but I got it done.

Thanks, Gary. Even though I like to exaggerate here and there, and Christiana IS meant to be busty, but I too get bothered when I see a drawing of a female figure showing both the breasts and the full butt at once and I try to avoid it.

I've been practicing loosening up a lot more and trusting my eyes more than relying on reference, and it seems to be having a positive effect on my figures. I did the axe blade last, and I was pretty much forcing it in there because, even though it may not look it thanks to clever leveling, the paper was getting REALLY smudgy. I drew it and said to myself that it should probably be under her forearm, but by then I couldn't bring myself to do any more erasing. Although, the more I think about it, the more it works either way to me. Truthfully, her hand is just too close to the top of the shaft, but I think it turned out okay. :)

I'd love to see a fan art of her...I'd be intrigued to see how you'd render her.

Fun fact: :iconmrmarcus: has never drawn anything for me, so Nia got the final ink. [link] I didn't realize that when drawing.

Interesting how you made that work! I'm long overdue for drawing someone of yours again. I'll have to rectify that.
