Knight Sprite by Dualmask Knight Sprite by Dualmask
I'm at it again...

Based on this guy: William Kilpatrick:Knight Bio by Dualmask

This will be the first male character I make a serious effort to animate.

He may seem like a random choice, but it's quite deliberate. William is one of the first characters to appear in the WCL story, along with Vanessa, Reynaldo and Faust (these three: Reaper Team Banner by Dualmask).

Thanks! It's going to be interesting working out how to animate a heavier character.

Flash for the building, Photoshop for the animating (when that time comes).

Interesting design- I like your use of darker lines for the eyes/mouth- makes him look quite powerful and intense.

Thanks! It's interesting how much expression can be attained with just a few pixels.

Thanks! I hope I can animate him believably. He'll be a new challenge for me-- I need to bring across an added feeling of weight and force to his movements. Female characters are so much easier and fun for me...

I did a little bit of animation in 2010, just with sketches, other than it taking so very long to get ideas out, it is really fun and puts me in a trance because it's so engrossing taking all the elements into consideration.

You're right. There have been times I've spent entire weekends building different moves of a single character. Bringing my characters to life has always been my dream.

Looks good so far. He's got an interesting look. You're going to make use of that shield?

Yeah, I fully intend to incorporate it into his attacks and, if I can make it happen, deflections and counters as well.

Thanks! I can't wait to animate him. Should be a completely different experience from characters I've done in the past.

Oh!  Are you using a new method then, or new animating tools?  Using new tools is always a fun process!

Nope, nothing new with the methods, but up until now, I've never seriously animated any male characters. I have a stock walk cycle I've been using for my females with some tweaks, but aside from one attack, I've never done anything with a male figure. And then there's incorporating his props into his movements... maybe I'm overthinking it (I do that) but it feels like I'm leveling up a little.

I agree with that analysis, I would say you will be levelling up through this experience, it will be different than your previous ones that you have posted :D
