I have to warn you, it might be a little harsh. It's got adult language and situations.

I'm just letting you know because I know you're not into the M-rated kind of art, so it's only right I tell you that my book contains a lot of M-rated stuff in word form. I would have had a rating on the Lulu page, but they took the content rating feature out for some odd reason.

ahh, alrighty, and that shouldn't be too bad, in language form I don't mind so much, I mean I hang out with a group of people that cuss every other word sometimes, XD. But yeah, I think I will be fine, but thanks for the warning!

Tell us how the proof looks. I'm thinking of buying this. Gotta support indie creators!

Christmas came a little late, but I still ordered a copy. Can't wait to see it!

I hope you get a good copy. A co-worker asked me to order one for her (because she wanted the book but doesn't like to shop online) and when it arrived, the cover art was kind of cut off. I went to the website and made the imagery smaller and more centered, but I don't know what their printing process is like.

The inner text was unaffected though, so that's a good thing.

As soon as I get it, I'll let the world know. It's taking a bit of a while, actually...but I did go for the absolute cheapest shipping.

I think that's a strong composition. It works well for a cover, methinks.

Thanks! Originally I had my name in the lower right, and I got advised from multiple people that it wasn't working well there. Now I think I've got it.

Congrats, that it's out there. Thanks for the link to lulu dot com. I'll be getting this come my next paypal payment. I want to get the paperback book, so I'd like to ask whether or not you could e-mail me a photograph of how it looks on a desk? Sounds like a silly request, but there's this thing about a tactile feel to a book that one doesn't get through a download, but another overlooked fact about grabbing a book off the shelf is that feeling of weight and depth it has...as a cube or box shape.

Thanks! I'm actually still waiting for my proof copy to show up in the mail. As soon as I get it, I'll post a pic for the world to see. The cover isn't actually as good as I'd like it to be--without Adobe Acrobat, I was forced to rely on Lulu's own preset options for the spine instead of my own art, although I did design the front and back covers.

How did you do the white aura?

That's easy. :) Make a selection around that which you want to make an aura around, whichever way works for you (pen tool, lasso, magic wand, whatever). Then expand the selection and feather it. How much to expand and feather it by depends upon the resolution of the image and the size of the object you want to make glow. Once you have the selection slightly larger than your object and feathered, fill the selection with whatever color you want under the layer that you have your colored image on. (This is something you want to do before you flatten the image.) The expansion of the selection ensures the glow extends beyond the figure and the feathering makes the glow look soft. Experiment with different values for expanding and feathering the selection to get different levels of glow.

Just kidding. Thanks! I'm glad you like it. I'm not as confident in my cover-design abilities as I am in my figure-drawing and writing abilities. :paranoid:

Thanks! I just didn't want to wait any longer...if something goes wrong, there are always future editions...I figured it was time to stop holding back and just go for it.
