"Unbelievable...I must've done something awful in a past life..."

Another one in the bag. She's one of WEAPON Combat League's key characters (and the one I've historically drawn the most often).

Others:

As I perfect the appearances of these characters, I get more and more convinced that, even though I get better feedback on other designs and ideas, it's this concept, my WEAPON concept, where my heart truly is. I think 2013 is going to be the year that it finally moves forward in a meaningful way.

Thanks Barry! Always trying to get better at lighting, especially since her powers are based on light!

Your welcome man. Looking at the picture again and I must say she is looking pretty badass here.

Great design and colours, and you resisted an iron man style chest light! Or nipple lights ...

Two points: Her left hand looks a little small and I think the shadows on her face aren't right given the light sources. I set up two lamps and looked in the mirror and it looked different.

Thanks. I know full well how easy it is to overdo the lights... especially given how fun it is to make everything glow.

I thought about what you said about the face lighting, but I figured given how far her glowing fists are from her face, combined with how strong the lighting is intended to be, that the lighting on her face more or less works. It is of course a tricky thing lighting the planes of the face especially with a simpler approach like mine. I think you're right about the left fist; I may be able to change it.

I was momentarily thinking back to this video:

:D

But yes, I think you've been very restrained and sensible in this choice.
Yeah with a simpler face it's pretty difficult to make that call. I sort of felt it was more a T-shape but it's absolutely a judgement call.

Great to see how you're progressing these guys. I think it's important to have a project you're passionate about, and it'll give you the energy and drive to be able to plug away at the more "profitable" stuff and still come back fresh and enjoying the time you get to work on Weapon. Good luck!

Come to think of it, it may be that the shadows on her face are making it look too obscure; attention is drawn to her fists instaed of her face, when that's equally, if not more, important. I think I will tweak those too.

Thanks a lot for the support. I've been working on this concept for a long time, but it took a while for my skills to meet up with my ambitions. I think I'm finally getting there. :D

Nice lighting choices, Jonathan
I'm trying to develop a pitch myself but I admit to knowing very little about how to go about it.

Thanks!

Lack of knowledge is only a debilitating factor if we let it be, Rod, especially with the internet available. I've started doing some research on the subject, and while I'm not going to stop at the first thing I stumble across, what I read in this old article [link] sounds pretty legit for a start.

Thanks, Jonathan. I actually came across the same one, but you're right it's a good start. If I come across anything else helpful I'll let you know.

I bet if you pitch this to Cartoon Network it'll get made. :iconspiritwarriors: at least got a meeting and his idea isn't as nearly as developed as yours.

That's an exceptional idea. Back when I was in school I learned a bit about putting together a pitch package...haven't thought about that in some time but that actually gives me some motivation. Thanks.
