----------------------------

We will see how long it lasts.

Was in NY a week ago, and Chicago the week before that. That's for the 9-5 job.

Then I have been (lucky enough to be) so busy with contract work, that I have had very little time for me.

Now I get a couple of days of free time and possibly no more travel for a month or so ... what ever will I do with myself?

Let's see ... celebrating 4 years at my job and my 12th wedding aniversary, going to a Rockies/Mets game (go Mets!), and of course the 4th of July. Sounds like my time is going to be well spent. With any luck, I might have some art or photos to show for it as well.

Hope everyone is enjoying their week and takes the time to stop and just look at the world around them. Have a good holiday if you're American. If not, then have a good one anyway.

Cheers!

... makes me long for that lottery win I mentioned previously. My 8-5 has been busy (but good and interesting since the mention of a $3.1B buyout - I think you all know which one I am referring to). On top of that, I have been REALLY steady with contract work, which I am glad to have, but it leaves little time to do stuff I want to do. Ugh.

Not that anyone cares or relates, but it helps to vent.

I've added a couple of things here and there since the last journal and I'm really surprised on the volume I've gotten on one of the wallpapers (the Lead Lemming one). Might have to do some more of those ...

Just got back from some R&R in Lost Wages (didn't lose my butt and got to go to the Playboy Club - not too shabby of a trip). Headed back to NYC in a couple of weeks. Seems travel is now a requirement of my job - good thing I don't mind.

That's about it for now. More to come soon. Thanks for all the favs and comments recently - I appreciate it. If anyone wants to give some criticism of what I post, I will be receptive to hearing it. Anything that makes me better and all that ...

Cheers!

For those that care (and I know some of you lonely guys do ...) March Madness is upon us. Can't root for Michigan this year (bummer), but it looks to be somewhat entertaining.

As for art - I have a few projects I am working on now and plan to upload in the next couple of days.

One other small thing ... oh yeah, St. Patricks is here on Saturday! I don't know about y'all, but I do my level best to enjoy myself on this day. Might even try to pace myself this year. No promises. Hope you all enjoy, but be safe!

Had to move on from the 'feature' journal. I may start randomly picking unsung artists I come across and feature them in the future. I know I don't get much traffic, but it's more that some would get.

And now, on to a few things:

1) Holy crap, am I getting a lot of attention with the tattoo pic. T'was not my intention, but hey, I'll take it. Thanks much to all who stop by, even if you are only curious at who would be crazy enough to get that tat.

2) Working on some paying work (CAD mostly, so not very interesting), but when I get that outta the way, I'll upload some more fun stuff.

3) Looking at getting a DSLR finally. Suggestions? I'm thinking $600 range ...

4) Gotta promote a band that really knows how to bring it - Buckner Funken Jazz. Check the MySpace page: www.myspace.com/bucknerfunkenj…

5) It's almost March Madness time - Michigan sucks this year so it won't be so interesting for me, but still a fun time if you like NCAA Basketball. That reminds me ... better start studying up for the pool ...

Hope y'all have a good one. If someone wants to leave a comment or shout or some other damn thing (I seem to have started collecting quotes again), then feel free to do so.

Karma is a bitch and she's driving the bus.
----------------------------

Well, spent a week in NY and didn't even take one picture. Sometimes I hate how busy my life can be - work work work, entertain clients, work work work. Ah well, at least I got to get away from the snow for a little while.

I had some trouble getting people to participate with the whole "feature" thing. Could be that so many others were doing it too, or it could be some people are just lazy. Who knows. I switched the strategy a bit and decided to ASK a few folks that I watch if they would like to be featured. I focused on two items:

1) Did I like their stuff?
2) Have they already been seen by lots of folks?

For the most part, the answers were Yes and No, in that order. I also tried to gather a variety of work, so it was not all the same type of artist. Note: not all requests were responded to, so I have taken some liberties and added them anyway, so that I can get this "feature" thing done. If you are listed below and would like to give your choices after all, please note me and I will update. Here are the featured artists I am posting:

and then they do that.
its seems like a game,

they act one way around you,
another way around me,
one way around friends,
another way around thier family.
its sad, but its not new,
but everyone is so untrue,
the way they act counts for nothing
their words count for even less…

when actions match the words,
that is what i like the best!

The talented miss :iconeggy-chan:

Then it is my responsibility to offer the same to others and spread the love - hence the title. The next 10 people who comment on this journal will have two items from their gallery of their choosing, and two of my choosing from their gallery featured here. That's right, I'm one upping it to four!

Not only do you get to chose two you are proud of, you get to have an impartial 3rd person (uh, that'd be me) review your gallery for two additional gems. Heck, whilst you're at it, I may leave a critique or fav behind. The only thing asked in return is that you feature 10 people too.

What do ya say? Are you game? C'mon, I know you want it.

As I am sure you all have been good and are getting what you asked for (I know I will be), then I hope this finds you in good health.

Here are some recent uploads I made, all in the Christmas spirit (I do not spin the dreidel, but my half-brother and half-sister do - I know, I know, sounds like an Adam Sandler song):

The last two are a view of the snow dump we saw in Colorado. My view of it more specifically. Hopefully none of you had to travel to or from Denver in the last few days. Living in an airport (no matter what some kooky movie portrays) can't be pleasant. Shoveling 2-3 foot of snow is not either. I can tell you that for sure.

Hope everyone has a Happy Holiday and a safe New Year!

The Good News:
I had an awesome trip and I am home safe. Dublin is a sweet place and I am humbled to have been able to stay there for two weeks. I even took some pictures while I was there. By the way, that city has an over abundance of beautiful women in it, in pretty much any variation you can think of. If you are one who appreciates such beauty, I suggest you visit. Soon. My neck developed a crick - on both sides.

The Bad News:
All three rolls of film I shot are toast! Errgh! I'm not sure if it is my camera (which I just had fixed) or the stinking X-Ray machines. My guess is the latter and I'm pissed the more I think about it. Either way, only the digital shots I took on the new Sony camera survived. I will upload some, though it's not much.

One more thing:
I just uploaded (finally) the pictures from the Senior Picture shoot I was asked to do (for free, no less - family can be such mooches). Please feel free to critique my style and technique as I want to improve and do more photography. Thanks!

See ya!

Karma is a bitch and she's driving the bus.

Just booked a company paid trip to Ireland. Granted, I have to work most of those days, but when a company says 'go to Dublin for two weeks to give training' it's really hard to say no. Doesn't hurt it's one of my "Top 5 Places To Visit" before passing on.

1. Scotland (it's a heritage thing - still researching a bit)
2. Tokyo
3. Dublin
4. Hong Kong
5. London

On top of that, I just got a new Sony Digital camera to play with.

Gotta say that I am more than pleased with my Karma as of late. The camera was part of a swanky raffle for referring people to get hired. Can you say $3K in Best Buy GCs? I know I can, beyotch.

Needless to say, I've been a bit distracted as of late, what, with a bunch of new gadgets and stuff to entertain me. Sorry for the bragging, but I can't get over how damn cool it is. :D

Back on the trip thing ... I'd like to put it out there to others - what would your "Top 5 Places To Visit" be? List 'em here and I will go and review/comment on a minimum one piece of your work. Pass it on, I want to see lots of people's work, but it'd be interesting to see where other people want to visit too.

Thanks!

Karma is a bitch and she's driving the bus.

Kinda in a funk today. Not only is there a somber mood given the day, but the weather was crappy today on top of it.

Being kinda reflective as well - not that I can help it - must avoid TV the rest of the evening. If I see one more news channel milking the whole 9-11 thing for ratings, I swear I'll scream.

As selfish as this thought is, I am glad I wasn't born 3 days earlier - I'd hate to have my birthday on a day like today. Can't seem to go 15 minutes without a constant reminder (have I mentioned that I hate the media today ... errrgh!). I work with a bunch of folks that lived in NY and still have family there and yet not one person mentioned it today. Tragic as it was, life must go on (unless you are a news station looking for an increased market share in a key demographic .... errrgh once again!).

At any rate, hopefully you all are in better mood than me.  If not, at least try to be in a better mood tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day, as they say.

NFL Football Season is Almost Here!

Tue Aug 29, 2006, 8:46 PM
If you can't be good, be good at it.

Not sure how many of y'all get into NFL football, but I'm pretty happy it's coming. Fantasy League Football occupies some of my down time and that's not a bad thing. If anyone is into this, go ahead and leave me who you think my first round pick should be (6th overall, out of 12).

By the way, one thing I think I will be focusing on right now is creating some Fantasy League logos, so if anyone wants one, let me know - I need some more practice. Probably one of the very few times you can have something for free (unless a lot of folks hit me up, then I might start charging). See the logo for the Tokyo Toros I created for my own team and leave a comment or critique if you want.

Loving the new house, been almost a couple of months. That new house scent has worn off for sure, but it feels comfortable finally. Looking forward to exploring the surrounding area a bit for some inspiration ... more on that as it's available.

Recently took some Senior photos for a family member - might be loading a couple of those here soon - keep an eye out.

Summer time y'all. Best time of the year! :w00t:

Been a busy two weeks - find a new house and close on it within two weeks makes for a tired person.

Gotta say I am pretty happy though - have a house again for the first time since being laid off and had to sell the one we had. Three long years at my in-laws and I actually get along with them. Could be worse I suppose - it could have easily been with less cool in-laws.

At any rate, I guess I had to share the good news. Now I gotta actually move on 4th of July weekend - could be interesting trying to get help. Ah well.

More work coming soon! Thanks to all who have at least stopped by to check my work out - a special thanks to those who have actually taken the time to comment of fave. Certainly encourages one to keep doing this.

PS - Nacho Libre was cool. Entertaining, but definitely not worth seeing twice for any price. My $.02 anyway.
