Thank you very much for creating this awesome comic, dSana
Apart from the drawings themselves being really beautiful I really love your style of story telling.
You are setting a very good pace by allowing for scenes which create an atmosphere that makes the sentiments and emotions of the characters very relateable and at the same time you don't overextend scenes once the point has come across.
Your characters and their representation is another really big positive point.
I really like your presentation of Tempest as a caring pony who is very much in the process of (re)learning how to express care on an emotional level alongside her actions all the while trying to come to terms with her actions throughout the reign of the Storm King.
Lullaby is the very definition of adorability! Extremely cute, with the very credible quirks of a child and at the same time with the history and strokes of fate that will probably trigger a protectiveness for her in most readers that may be similar to the protectiveness she triggers in Tempest (though presumably without the sense of responsibility for Lullaby's fate as in case of Tempest).
Thistledown seems to be exactly the pony which Tempest and Lullaby need to ballance out some of the points where they clash and at the same time I have the impression that there is something about this kind and sensitive pony that has not yet been revealed.
One particular quality I also want to mention is that you manage to pack so much emotion into your story without it comming across as sappy.
A critique seems incomplete, hollow or even dishonest without actual listing of points the critic doesn't like. So far however I really haven't found anything to nitpick about to help further improving your comic. I promise I will be honest if I find anything where I hope constructive criticism can help to further improve.
Till then however I do hope that being specific about the strong points of your comic and the thanks of a reader are helpful and motivating
Hi Malte! Thank you so much for this wonderful review.
Creating new characters people won't find annoying and writing stories for beloved characters from the canon is never easy! So it gives me pleasure to know that I am doing okay on both fronts. I'm trying to make sure there's plenty slice of life moments - but with tension or uncertainty always looming in the background. While some people find it booring, I can see that enough readers, you included, feel there is something else going on... And of course I really enjoy writing and drawing emotions. I like drawing hugs! But as you said - it would be easy to make things sappy, so I'm being careful
As a creator I am aware of miriads of issues - I'm looking forward to any constructive criticism. I may disagree or agree, it's always great to know how people interpret the story.
