DOW: A Cold BurnAgnispirit was in agony. Snow flittered down from the icy covered tree tops, the regular green of the forest replaced mostly by ice, snow and bare branches. Leaf Bare was a hard time for all cats, as the snow caused prey to hide in their holes or starve. In turn that made Agnispirit and his clanmates starve as well.
It wasn’t the lack of prey that was getting to Agnispirit though, although it was a part of his misery. The snow was bitterly cold, and while most cats in Leafclan had short fur, Agnispirit had one of the shortest pelts. Whenever an icy breeze swept through camp. DOW: Highclan March Ceremonies Clarkstorm blinked as he watched a line of well-groomed kits tumbling out of the Nursery. The kits from Wispflake and Rookfeather were finally ready to be apprentices, and most of the kits just couldn’t keep the excitement off their faces. Blackstar must have told her parents of her intentions early, hence why both parents were proudly grooming their kits. The entire litter must have caught on, or a clever kit told the rest and they sensed the restlessness. Something was happening, involving them, most kits could put two and two together, especially at their age.
Most of Wispflake and Rookfeather’s kits’ fur was well groomed, but as the kits excited wriggled, some strands of fur sticking up from their movements. Rookfeather and Wispflake were working together to groom the entire, litter, something Clarkstorm had been watching for a while now. He wondered if he and Frozensky would have a lot of trouble when Crowkit, Ravenkit, and Mousekit were ready to be apprentices.
