The Color Between The Lines“Can we not finish this discussion here?”
The assassin scowled, as a peal of thunder rumbled overhead mid-sentence. His companion was already halfway down the ratline.
“Jarlaxle, I don’t have time for this–"
A flash of lightning drew the drow’s gaze upward, and the human saw himself reflected in those ruby eyes, silhouetted starkly against the stormy sky, and as diminutive as a piece of driftwood bobbing in the endless surf.
No longer interested in finishing his thought, Entreri clambered out of the crow’s nest. The wind had already picked up enough that it took more than an afterthought to maintain his surefootedness down the swaying shroud.
Jarlaxle didn’t look back again as he crossed the stern. As soon as Entreri’s foot touched the deck, so, too did a raindrop, followed by another, and then another. Shaking his head, the exasperated man quick-stepped to the drow’s heels, managing to duck into cover right as the drops
Sellswords Self-Care, Part 1“Have you eaten?”
“Not yet,” the assassin replied automatically. Then, realizing that he’d been alone, that he should’ve still been alone, Entreri lifted his head just enough that his heavy-lidded eyes could behold the colorfully-clad drow.
He sighed and let his head drop back onto his arms. Although he’d never admit it out loud, the exhausted man was glad that it wasn’t any other voice, for he wasn’t sure that he’d had it in him to snap his head up in time.
“How’d you get in here?” Entreri asked, his voice muffled by his arms. A spice-tinged floral aroma tickled his nose, and he peeked over his arms to behold a ruby-red gaze appraising his own.
“What?” the assassin sighed wearily.
“Answering uninhibitedly, asking obvious questions, general lowered situational awareness… what’s gotten into you, my abbil?” Jarlaxle tsked.
Entreri groaned and buried his eyes
The Roads Of ChangeHow many times have you been told that the easier road is the one travelled by many, yet is by far the one with less morality, less dignity, and less self-worth than the harder road? You are told to take the challenging road, for it will yield more benefits, but then you look down the other road, the shorter, safer path, and you see all of the people that are enjoying themselves. Another question would be, how many people actually take that advice, follow their heart, not their pragmatic mind? Too few.
My father once told me, "If you work hard, you will get more satisfaction out of the reward." His advice guides me even now, but I fear I may not always follow that moral code. I admit I am not the most ambitious follower on the roads of change, I much prefer a day of sitting and reading than a day of raking leaves or collecting rocks to make a fire pit.
I believe another factor is not the road itself, but the changes along it. The easy road has few changes, a sense of normality and rout
Zaknafein's reaction to Drizzt's UnicornAfter a heartfelt emotional reunion of hugs and tears; Drizzt and his Father Zakenfein set out with the combination of the companions and Jarlaxle's allies to join the massive battle. As the group gathered their various mounts, Drizzt called upon Adar his magical unicorn mount. Zakenfein’s eyes popped out of his head, jaw dropped then his expression quickly changes to stupefied and shakes his head in denial
“ YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!! NO DRIZZT NO! Are you a Drow or aren't you? He’s not horrible but a unicorn no way or I’m a surface elf with a sun tan.”
Drizzt stared at his father at a loss and offended.
“I assure you he can be fierce in battle”.
"Son if you didn't have a wife I’d have to wonder about you. You have a unicorn Goddess and mount and carry a sword named twinkle.”
Drizzt glared at Zak
“Dear father what are you getting at?”
"What are you going do next my boy, put your hair pretty braid
Contest 1 -In our WorldWelcome to the Legacy of Drizzt Do'Urden Club's first contest: Drizzt in our world.
Your task is to either illustrate or/and write what it might be like for our favourite drow to be thrown into our world. How will he react to all the technology, people, and places? Will he freak out at the site of a skyscraper or get mesmerised by something as simple as a washing machine? The choice is yours.
Some examples: Drizzt learning to drive, discovering a computer, finding out about his own books/fanfiction, indoor plumbing, video games, electricity, etc. Really the choices are unlimited, and probably rather humerus in most cases.
- Can be drawn, painted, rendered, photomaniped etc.
- Should have a decent background after all its about the world around him.
- Must center around Drizzt and his new experiences on earth, but you can add your own characters (or even yourself if you want).
- It may be in 'skit' from if you wish.
- Must portray Drizzt on earth
